Cook has a lot of red flags. 3 shoulder surgeries already, fumbling issues, pass protection issues, and an off the field arrest record that will curl your hair. I'm not surprised that his draft stock is dropping.

 

I'm going to be fair here though, not like so many of the Fournette haters. Dalvin Cook passes the eye test to me. I watch a lot of Seminole football, and he is absolutely electric. I don't want him at 4 but I will say that if he fell to 35, I don't care who our pick was at 4, I would take him. It sounds looney, but Fournett and Cook both would be an embarrassment of riches.  Cook does so many things well, that even if you arent handing him the ball 20 times a game, you just get it to him. 

 

I've been talking a lot about not getting lost in the weeds of some narrow stat lately. I think people do that to LF and they miss the big picture cause they don't trust their eyes. I apply the same thing to Cook. I recognize the value of combine numbers and this stat or that stat, but watch games, not cutups, not highlights, and I think you will see that both players pass that eye test. They have that IT factor. Neither one is bad. Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream are both delicious, but just cause you like one more doesn't make the other one bad.
