Uhh... I say to my kids all the time "stop Monkeying around"
the term or phrase doesn't mean anything racist... it means to not play, or mess around.

Whatever your take on DeSantis, he's a moron for thinking he could use the term "monkey" whilst referring to a black candidate for office and not get reaction.

The question is, did he actually want this reaction?  I don't know enough about the man to speculate whether or not he's attempting to attract racist voters to his fold or not, but it's an idiotic thing to say if he did it casually, and it's a despicable thing if he did it strategically.

People hear what they want to I suppose...
I never heard him refer to the candidate and monkey as synonyms or similes, or descriptors...

Telling voters to not monkey up the vote is not the same as calling someone a monkey.
Not even close... to feed this idea as even partially sane thought is idiotic to me.

Just another case of how everything and anything someone from the right (speaking as someone from the center) says is "racist".
