I would be stunned if he retired. Rodgers seems far, far too competitive to allow his career to end on that loss in San Francisco back in January. Green Bay drafting Jordan Love seems similar to how they treated Brett Favre. Green Bay wants to get ahead of his decline and start preparing for the future. I think the intent is that Rodgers will have maybe this year and next year, and then whether he's ready to retire or not matters not to Green Bay.

As he'll be nearing 40 years of age and Love should have at least two good years under his belt with that offensive system. And that leaves them with the next two years to see if he can handle the job or not. They're just repeating their history with Favre/Rodgers as it was proven to work over a decade ago. It'll be interested to see if Rodgers greets Love with open arms or a cold shoulder as it was reported when he arrived in Green Bay behind Brett Favre.
