It will be interesting to see what comes of this. The team has declining support already as it is.

Will you join them, or do they love their country more than you?

I already cancelled my tickets over their dismal local play and my one and only jaguar shirt has a cracked logo from being washed too much. Not so sure they care about my money, so I'm good.

The Steelers, titans and Seahawks kept their teams in the locker room while the anthem was played today.

Should just remove the platform for stupidity all together. If we can’t be respectfull I’d rather remove the anthem, color guard, and flag altogether.

I've frequently wondered why we bother with the national anthem before games anyway. I go to the stadium to watch guys get CTE, not pledge allegiance to a flag.

Happy to see people take a stand from a privileged position.

They took a BRAVE position with more at risk than many of us may ever know.

Okay now that seems a little much.

They kneeled.  Big whoop.

I do appreciate the ceremony but honestly just want a few hours to break from life and watch guys battle it out.

I respectfully disagree. They only did that if you let yourself be offended by something so trivial.

I am with you on a previous post about them doing it on their own time. I've said as much in earlier posts.

Spitting in your face? That seems excessive.

Is there a rule regarding not being on the sideline for the anthem?

The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the NFL League Rulebook. It states:

“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.

“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition...

...It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.

NFL double standard.

It was about the false narrative that roving bands of bad cops are murdering innocent black men by the hundreds.

I watch a lot of what Trump calls, "fake news". Not once have I ever heard about "roving bands of bad cops". There have been the occasional bad apples, which you have in every profession and that's the cops people want brought to justice. I've never heard any reasonable person on CNN, Headline News or my local news indict all cops or even most cops. Saying anything different is just an attempt by the far right to incite more rage among the uninformed. If you've read something otherwise, check the tagline to see if it says, sponsored content. That is the real "fake news."

Probably not, unless you worked for your local branch of the Democratic Party.

Khan is a Trump supporter and only did what he did because he didn't want to look bad.

Bingo. A lot of them are doing it for that reason. The backlash is just too much of a PITA to deal with.

You still have to give players and coaches who love their country the opportunity to salute the flag.

Can't they just do that in their own time?

Why is taking a knee so disrespectful anyway?
