There have been many efforts to make abortion illegal. Roe v. Wade pretty much whizzed on all of them, and that verdict was arrived at 40-ish years ago. Historically speaking, the Supreme Court is generally unwilling to revisit decisions that have been on the books that long. The concept is called "settled law".

I've only bothered to watch one unedited video, and have only skimmed the transcripts, but to me it still looks like some folks with an agenda lied their way into a meeting then sat around asking loaded questions that, if this were a criminal investigation, would have been tossed out as entrapment.

First of all, this is not about making abortion illegal.

Second, if you only watched on video and skimmed the transcripts, then you aren't fully informed.

I don't deny that these people releasing the videos have an agenda.  However, throwing out "entrapment" is a legal case in itself.  Why has PP not brought this up to fight it?

Private entities can't entrap since they can't arrest and file charges.

That's not the citation I was asking for. I was asking for citations of assertions that these things are in fact illegal.

Yes, so they are guilty by just being a business.  That's a great way of running things.  I think you'd have been a great witch hunter in Salem back in the day...

(admittedly nowadays the Feds just magically create some of the money they spend, but much of it still is taken from citizens)

EDIT: Now Anchorman is going to claim that PP only gets the magically created money, and that none of the money taken by force goes to PP. Smile

LOL, what?

How exactly is the government taking people's money by force?  Dude, you're interpretation of taxes and how our country works has gotten very very skewed.

You may hate the powers that run the government, but it's still technically a democracy.  Taxes are not taking money by force!  Come on guys...  Come back to reality...

If you want to be mad, be mad that the wealthy have taken over our government by buying out all the politicians.

Well shoot, here I've been under the assumption that I had to pay those taxes or go to jail. Thanks for the tip!

You can move to one of those African countries that have no taxes anytime you want.  Nobody his holding a gun to your head and forcing you into an internment camp/ghetto in which you are forced to live.

I can't believe I (a commie liberal :teehee: ) is saying this...  But love it or leave it...   :yucky:

Taxes are the price one pays to live in a society that provides for it's people.  To think that taxes are taken by force means you believe the government is illegitimate.  At least, that's my point of view.

There are certain things our government does I disagree with.  Lately, those things have become more and more.  But I never looked at taxes as being force-ably taken from me.

That's not my main point, but yes, that is the case. Love it or leave it, baby.

But the main point is that taxes are part of the social contract. It's also in the constitution.

You guys are acting like you live in some dictatorship that is forcing a great evil onto you. Seriously, come back to reality. The water is fine... :-)

If they are not voluntarily donated, then yes, they are taken by force. Try not paying taxes. Eventually someone with a gun will show up at your doorstep. Because 51% of the people voted to have money taken from the other 49% doesn't magically make it happen. There are still guns backing it up.

I understand the point. And yes, if you don't pay taxes, eventually you could wind up in jail.

What you consider force I see as social contract backed by the constitution...

I guess if I didn't believe in the usa, I'd consider taxes a forced evil.

I think you guys are in the minority in terms of your thoughts on our tax policies...

There is no contract. I didn't sign any contract agreeing to pay taxes. Did you? 'Social Contract' is just some [BLEEP] term invented by a leftist pundit to justify theft.

C'mon - they like to play paper revolutionary, from their condos and gated communities. They'll whine about paying taxes while they pay their home-owner association fees, lol.

So what do consider the constitution?

I'm not in a gated community, and wouldn't want to be in one. But homeowner fees are a choice. An actual contract that the homeowner chooses to sign, not one that is imposed without approval by 51% of the neighbors.

I have no problem with sales taxes, since buying or not buying something is a choice. Gasoline taxes that are used to support road building and maintenance are IMO the best taxes, because they are essentially very convenient user fees. Income taxes are theft.
