The Walking Dead, Season 7 (spoilers)

What a boring season.  We are now at the point where we started this previous season.  Not sure I can keep watching this.

^ At least last night's episode had some good action in it.

But, for the most part, I agree. Most episodes this season were very slow and dry (although all these angles had to be set up, I guess).

Hoping next season starts out quick, and not taking 5-6 episodes before they start going at each other.

Hoping next season starts out quick, and not taking 5-6 episodes before they start going at each other.

Episode 1 - Erik and Aaron are ambushed while on a picnic near the carnival. Erik, taken captive, is hung by his ankles from a tree outside Alexandria with his hands chopped off and a large cowbell placed around his waist.  After Erik is devoured by roaming walkers, Aaron takes a 30 minutes flash back to all the good times they shared together while he weeps over the last tupperware of spaghetti leftovers that Erik made the day before. He then resolves to kill the man responsible and starts planning his 1 man assault on the Saviors.

Episode 2 - Carol, Morgan, and Zeke go for a ride into the country. No one know what happened but Carol is unusually perky for the rest of the episode. Meanwhile. Jerry takes Shiva for a walk but loses her when they stumble across a zoo where several ostriches have bred a flock. Follow the zany adventure as Jerry tries to get the leash back on while Shiva stalks some fresh meat.

Episode 3 - Rick and Michonne go on another scavenger run alone. They seem to be doing that a lot lately for some reason.

Episode 4 - Carl and Enid go for a walk in the woods. They find an abandoned but improbably functional drive in movie theatre and watch an old documentary called "Night of the Living Dead."

Episode 5 - Eugene becomes the first person on Earth to understand and defeat E.T. on the Atari 2600. The Hilltop and Oceanside communities meet for a Summer Ball and Fish Fry, but trouble lurks as Gregory takes an interest in Cyndie. What will Tara do to protect her new love interest? (We did mention that Tara and Greg are hooking up now, didn't we?)

Episode 6 - Rosita got pregnant somehow by someone at some point. The suspense ramps up as a Sonogram reveals what could either be Hypertrichosis or just an in utero horseshoe mustache.

Episode 7 -The writers remember that we were supposed to have a big war this year, so Rick and Negan meet at an abandoned brewery to talk over terms of an armistice. Daryl, Dwight, Simon, and the rest share smokes and walker bashing outside while the leaders ease the tension with a pitcher of Michelob Ultra (thanks to our new sponsor this year!). Meanwhile, Aaron stalks Negan from nearby.

Episode 8 (mid season finale) - Unable to come to an agreement Rick and Negan prepare for war. The Alexandrians go on a recruiting and supply run while the Saviors continue to fortify the Sanctuary with more walkers for the fence. In the bonus half hour of this 90 minute travesty episode Rick and the rest finally approach to attack but they falter at the sight of Walker Aaron chained to the main gate.

Sure it made sense. You saw the turn by the GP people?

You went to the midseason premire which arcs to Shiva's tragic death from ingesting antifreeze in the season finale.

I was really hoping Rick was going to shoot Eugene after the "I'm Negan" line.

It was clear they were going to get backstabbed on the episode where they brought all the weapons and they said it wasnt enough, that moment raised a lot of red flags.

I think you're in the minority if you saw it coming. But that's cool if you did. Not many predicted it.

The "not enough guns" was pretty easily explained. Bad haircut straight up said it wasn't enough guns for all the people they had. Didn't really raise any flags for me at that point.

While that moment raised flags, My Desired Display Name is literally the only person that said they saw that coming.

I didn't even think anything was suspicious when the sniper lady with Michonne said "We will win".

I think it will be interesting to see how the first 3-4 episodes *based on what directors said on The Talking Dead) of this war play out with the Grbage Pail folks now. You'd think they are pretty much locked in now with Negan's crew. They have huge numbers based on that between Negan's crew, out posts and the GP folks

They also have the Kingdom now who outnumbers the garbage people I believe and Hilltop officially too. The Savior's + Garbage is likely more people, but Alexandria+Kingdom+Hilltop isn't a scrub team either. I expect Oceanside will join in eventually too.

All I can really say is that while this season has largely been a disappointment for me overall, the last 3 episodes made me really come to dig Sasha. I went from being completely ambivalent about her character to actually being bummed that she's gone.

The last death that moved me on this show as Herschel and most of all Dale. Dale was my boy. And whole Glenn and Abraham had more gravitas/shock value...it wasn't the same for me as when the old dudes bit it.

I was hoping they would keep Glenn. He was one of my favorites of the whole series. But you're right, knowing he died at that point in the comic made it an expected, less hurtful move

I forgot about the hilltop crew, which seems low numbers wise at this point though, plus you never know what Gregory is going to do. That guy is just about all in on Negan at this point.

Remember the one shot of the Garbage Pail people. They had people as far as the eye could see. They looked to out number everyone from that shot.

The shot was heavy CGI, but what I saw was piles of garbage, not piles of people.

I took the shot to show a massive labyrinth where outsiders would get lost easily and the garbage people could disappear easily, to show they could easily defend their base.

Again, I may have overlooked it, but their numbers to me didn't seem to be more than a few dozen.

Why does Jadis talk like she's a character in Mad Max?
