Bortles would have been the first QB taken this year

Bortles needs to prove himself now with a better Oline a good running back, a great TE and an ok one with Lewis, he should improve this season.

Don't get me wrong, at this point Bortles looks to be a better pro QB in the long term but if you look at each at the time before they were drafted, you'd have to give Winston the edge.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

IIRC the club said they believed he was better than this years' guys when they drafted him.
It's why they were comfortable picking him when and where they did.

Winston can throw a spiral. I haven't bothered to pay that much attention to these guys but to act like Bortles, a clear project, would have been selected over Winston as if it was a no-brainer is not indicative of reality.

Bortles is already better than Winston, and isn't in the category of stupidity. Winston needs to be more mature, and his lack of experience in the NFL automatically puts him behind Bortles.

Yup. Dave called it pretty accurately. Bortles has a clean sheet, the right attitude, untapped potential, and now has 12+ games of experience and a useful offseason. We're way ahead of the game as far as developing our young passer.
