Let's see... for me, a nightmare day would be if we drafted someone that nobody has been talking about, someone like 

 

Arik Armstead at 3

 

Followed up by someone in round 2 like Dorsett or Lockett (short slot WRs.  If we're drafting slot/PRs, I prefer Agholor)

Mid 3rd round.

 

Meaning for the Jags, I wouldn't touch him until the 4th round or later.  I just think getting lineman is way smarter.  If he loses half a step (which is likely/possible) in a year or two, he may be pretty worthless.  that's what I don't like about smallish receivers.  Once they lose that quickness edge, they take a huge drop in their ability/production.  See Ace Sanders as an example.  Now, I know Lockett is a bigger, faster, quicker version of Ace, but I think it would still apply.

The Dream Days 1 & 2 thread that hendershot started is very interesting to read and the variety of opinions are helpful in thinking about various draft scenarios for the Jaguars and other teams.   I look forward to looking back at that thread in the days following the draft.  

 

As a result,  if you would like,  please mention one or more realistic Nightmare Days 1 & 2 scenarios you have for the Jags. 

 

I think my Nightmare 1st/2nd round (and I'm only going to talk about "realistic" here, otherwise taking a K/P would be one):

 

Shane Ray at 3

Jaelen Strong at 36

Gene then proceeds to trade a 1st and a 4th to the Titans to draft Dorial Beckham-Green.  Then in the 2nd round we pick Derrick Lott and in the 3rd we pick Andrew East, Long Snapper.

Yup, the first two rounds weren't ideal. Fowler and Yeldon will be fine, but I stand by the opinion that in both cases there were a handful of better picks to be made. Greene in the 5th round is great, 3rd round there was the nightmare. 

 

Once again Dave appears to have been a slow starter out of the gate then finished with the closing speed of of a triple crown winning horse. No one has been able to touch him from the 3rd round on the last two drafts.
