Quote:The Perine hype train is beginning. Looking forward to his combine
This is where he is going to stumble IMO. His skills are ahead of his measurables.

I'm just looking forward to seeing him run around I don't think he'll blow up or anything.

His 40 time will be around a 4.55 or 4.6. Vert will be around 35+. He'll bench a ton. Played at 235/240 in college. Probably needs to play at 220/225 in the NFL.

I like this guy as a day 2 pick if we don't wind up with fournette or cook.

Interesting article on him by Matt Waldman.

It suggests that maybe Perine's decline in production could be partly down to him adding weight through his college career and suggests that if he slimmed down, he might be a better player.

Yeah, he is probably this year's closest RB example of a razor's edge player. Very skilled, but with just baaarely enough athleticism to make it work. If he gets even slightly out of shape, or the wrong kind of nicked up that players have to play through all the time, I think he could quickly be on the wrong side of that edge athletically and not be up to snuff.

I think he would be a lot better if he lost 10-15 lbs. He does have that low center of gravity running style that is fun to watch.

He's well known as a weight room freak at Oklahoma. His broad jump and vertical will be quite high. The only issue he has is his long speed at his current weight. He's a very good athlete.

We'll see, there's room to change my mind. I don't see the explosion with him that a quite high broad and vertical jump would suggest, though.

You don't squat 600 without being explosive man. His only worries should be 3 cone and top end speed which are impacted by his weight.

Definitely needs to play at a lower weight. Ran a 4.65 I think. The good news is he'll probably be there at round 3.

I think Perine and Galman are severely underrated in this draft. That's why I want to go pass rusher at 4.

Pass rusher at 4. Feeney or Lamp 2nd rounder. Perine or BA RB in the 3rd.

Are you still thinking Lamp might actually fall to round two?

the MJD clone just climbed to number 5 on mayocks list.

Go Jags!
*To stay up for atleast 2 years 3/6/17
2016 draft players I think will be good
  • On the Fournette train, will be best back of his class 3/6/17
  • Lattimore please,  Lockdowns on both sides would be nice
  • Engram at TE and the MJD clone Samaje Perine
