Jags talking to OC Greg Roman

Quote:I'd prefer Wilson. At least with Wilson there is an unknown. He could be a great playcaller. Roman is average at best. Yea, because working with a QB that isn't comfortable in the pocket is the coaches fault. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:My comment actually had nothing to do with the QB. You said Roman is "average at best", what did you exactly mean by that?
Kirby Wilson:
2002-2003 TB RB Coach - 27th rushing yards, tied for last in rush TDs 2004 - 2006 AZ - 22nd in yards, 11th in TDs; 32nd in yards, last in TD (2!!!!!) 07 - 2013 Steelers - 3rd in yards, 22nd in TDs; 23rd and 13th; 19th and 21st; 11th and 8th; 14th and 15th; 26th and 27th; 27th and 26th 2014 Vikings - 14th and 16th Hmmm...I know rosters and HC and OC philosophy can differ, but uh...WUT? Quote:My comment actually had nothing to do with the QB. I'm simply suggesting he was hampered by incompetent QB play, much like the 49ers offensive coordinator in 2005. His unit finished dead last in points socred and yards gained; you might have heard of him, his name is Mike McCarthy. Quote:Kirby Wilson: Jeepers! His track record is FAR better than Jedd. Hire him!
Greg Roman didnt all of a sudden become a bad coach, the 49ers had a lot of turmoil this year from the front office, that played a lot into players and coaches
Wilson has a lot of coaching experience, dont know how he would be as a play caller but everybody has to start somewhere, if they bring in a very good QB coach, he could be fine

Quote:Kirby Wilson: If its worth anything I can say he did cobble together a semblance of a running game for the Vikings after the AP debacle. That has to be worth something right? Right!!!???11!!

A coach definitely doesn't go from genius one season to bad the next while under the same team/role.
Can't wait to see whats next.
Greg Roman can get Blake Bortles up to the level of Matt Schaub with his QB coaching experience.

Can we leave the personal insults behind for a while and get back to some semblance of topic, gents? Please, and thank you. Quote:Also Kaepernick is very limited as a pocket passer and teams have figured out how to keep him in check.exactly Roman has a offense more designed for a pocket passer remeber he came with Harbuagh from Stanford where they had Luck. Kap is more the Wilson type of QB and would probably do better in a system similar to Say Jed Fisch. Quote:Greg Roman can get Blake Bortles up to the level of Matt Schaub with his QB coaching experience. So now we blame the OC for every QB they have not made Super Bowl Champions, when they had zero control over acquiring said QB? I can crap in a box and mark it guaranteed but I still sold you a guaranteed piece of crap.

Not nearly as Exp. as Trestman but has a good resume working with lineman and TE and QBS
I would be very disappointed as a fan if we hired Roman. There's a reason why the 49ers and the whole Bay Area wants him gone you know. What has he done with Kaepernick?
Quote:Greg Roman can get Blake Bortles up to the level of Matt Schaub with his QB coaching experience. Bortles' ceiling is way above Shaub's. Heck, Bortles end of season play was as good as Shaub's. One more offseason and a better system will push him over that low mark.
Can't wait to see whats next.
