Winston Suspended for 1st Half

#21
(This post was last modified: 09-17-2014, 02:34 PM by The Eleventh Doctor.)

Jameis Winston has something in common with the Jags now.  He can only play half a game.

*rimshot*

With NCAA Punishments, I'm surprised they didn't do something like one quarter of two different games.  Or maybe 5 minutes of the first quarter for 6 games.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Hmmmmmm

Jameis! Yo Dude!

Take notice...

The NFL does not put up with this anymore.

The Owners are immortal, you are not!

When they have no time,  they think about it!

When they go down hard, they think about it!

He can pass for 5,000 yards this year and will not be the #1 pick. In fact who would pick him? Winston will be behind bars soon.He just don't learn. His coaches and teammates have got to be tired of this.

Congratulations to FSU for stepping up and suspending him.  I don't think this last incident was really a big deal, but I think it was the straw that broke the camels back.  I'm guessing they said next time you screw up, you get a half game...and this was it.

He is just lacking some maturity that I would hope comes with time.

Maybe they should suspend him for a half a game that is never played...lol UF style!! Seriously this guy has some real issues.....if he was not a big time jock he would most likley be in jail.

Especially when you're the face of the university. He just doesn't get it.

Jimbo isn't going anywhere. Sorry to disappoint.

Quote:He got suspended? 50/50 he raped a girl and got away with it... doesnt miss any time on the football field.. busted a bunch of windows and costs somebody a bunch of money acting like a fool with a bb gun. doesnt miss any time on the football field. stole from publix. doesnt miss any time on the football field.

but he yells some stupid remarks based on a viral video and he gets suspended for that? In a fairly important game no less. what in the world is going on at Florida St?

The kid is clearly a moron. Clearly entitled. clearly has no sense. But of all the things he has done, how does he finally get in trouble for this?

It's pretty simple. Culmination of events. If he did this and didn't have the history he has, then he wouldn't have been suspended at all.

Seriously?

You seriously think rape is about sex?

You don't know anything my friend. You really don't. Educate yourself on the subject before you just nonchalantly throw some crap to the wall like that.

Rape is about power. Wanting to dominate, denigrate and destroy a person through sexual intimidation. It has nothing to do with wanting some.. it takes a sick piece of garbage to do it.

The way you describe it all the nerds and geeks of the world would all be rapists.

EDIT: Quoting on this forum is garbage.

This was stupid. He's being punished. Makes me upset and I'm not going to lie, it makes me more upset that it happened on the leadup to Clemson.

Not to overblow this, assuming FSU wins this game, he'll still likely go down as the best FSU QB ever and (either way) have a solid NFL career.

While I certainly think he deserves to be punished by FSU for the multitude of dumb things he's done, I hate that he's been suspended this game. I hate it simply because it diminishes a win for Clemson if they win. Everyone will say "ah, well if Jameis wasn't suspended the first half no way they would have won." I would prefer Clemson pull the upset against FSU with Jameis playing the entire game. Conversely, if FSU wins, the talk will be "Clemson couldn't beat FSU even after FSU gave them a 2 quarter head start" it's almost a lose-lose for Clemson.

Who cares...?

That's not in Clemson's control. 'Ole doofus keeps screwing up things for himself and the team - so pay the price. I actually wish it was a whole game instead...

<--- not an FSU hater either. You do something stupid, you get dealt with appropriately - especially for someone regarded highly as him (representing his school, etc).

Would have been better to just suspend him for the entire game.

The guy is a complete moron. And if you think Manziel was picked apart before the draft, you ain't seen nothing yet.

For him yes...and in general yes.  But it's a little trend going around with the young folk now.  Have you seen the viral videos?

Huh

The entitled immaturity that Jameis is exhibiting is going to bite him in the Draft.
He could very well plumment to second day status and second day money.

What he does not realize is that the dawn of a new day in accountability is underway in the NFL and it won't take to much time for it to translate to the NCAA. Major/Minor Universities and their programs have a blank check to lower the hammer on players who get out of line. Many Major/Minor donors/boosters are also expressing their concerns and hinting about blank checks ala AB-NFL

I am a "Dyed in the Wool" NOLE. I bleed Garnet and Gold plus pray at the altar of Saint Bobby.

If Jameis has another serious offense I will whole heartedly support the University immediately dissmissing him from FSU.
I mean a perp walk in front of ESPN, escorted by Troopers out of the dorm/gym into his car and scrape his sticker.
Ship his personal property to his parents house.

He wasn't suspended just because of this offense. People seem to be missing that. It's everything that lead up to it and all the other dumb [BLEEP] that he's done.
