Is Gurley worth a 1st round pick?

Quote:He's definitely worth on talent. He was probably Georgia's best player last year. If he can stay injury free I wouldn't at all be shocked if he's a top 20 pick. I don't like Yeldon. He has a problem with ball security in games I've watched as well as playing behind an all-world offensive line. Gordon will be good. I'm still holding out for Sanders Jr or Kelvin Taylor in a couple years though... They've flashed great talent as well as being legacy players. Alabama's line was anything but all-world last year.
No. Maybe after the 25th pick but most likely RB will start flying off the boards in the early 2nd.
Quote:Alabama's line was anything but all-world last year. I agree. It was probably Alabama's worst offensive line in the last 10 years. The Kouandijo's were good and Steen was average. They weren't bad, but definitely a down year for them. Probably a dozen better offensive lines in college last year.
A late first maybe. If he was in this years draft that just happened, id say no. there is a lot of other talent that had more value.
i really love gurley but unfortunately the rb position loses more value every year.
Coughlin when asked if winning will be a focus: "What the hell else is there? This is nice and dandy, but winning is what all this is about."

Probably a dozen better offensive lines in college last year. Shula's last two years had awful O-lines. Last year's line is nowhere near the worst. That being said, Cyrus regressed, Arie was completely underwhelming for a vast majority of the season, Steen was the most consistent lineman until he got hurt, Kelly was a decent pass-blocker/meh run-blocker, and Shephard is a JAG.

It will be interesting to see where the top prospects come off the board in the next few years.
"You do your own thing in your own time. You should be proud."
Quote:^^^^this Derrick Henry is the next Adrian Peterson. Quote me later. And that's no knock on Gurley - feel he's going to be a top 5 back in the NFL. I feel like Yeldon will be a middle tier running back like James Stewart.
Is he among the top 32 most talented draft-eligible players? He is. Will he be drafted in the first round? I doubt it. The current trend is disposable RBs and unless you are a home-run threat and needing to be accounted for on the field, youre not gonna get drafted high
Cool thing is, if our current backup RBs dont perform well, we can pick on of these guys next year, or the year after for the underclassmen.
