I ran an athletic association that hosted both baseball and softball, and I can attest to the fact that the parents who had daughters participating in softball were some of the most dedicated I've ever dealt with.  They showed up for their games, they were always positive in the way they supported the team, and they cleaned up after themselves, which was nice. 

 

The kids were very much about team and dedication.  There weren't any divas, although there were clearly some who were better than others.  But, unlike baseball where you've got the dugout parents who think their little Johnny has a ticket to the bigs as long as he can throw a curve by the time he's 10, these girls really formed a cohesive unit.  That followed them right up into high school and some to college. 

 

Meanwhile, one of the kids who was on the track to play in the big leagues actually changed the oil in my truck at the dealership the other day.  I guess he's working on his spitter. 

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
