Best 4th Round Pick in Jaguars History

Quote:What did Taylor do? He divided the Jaguars' fan base. This might go in the HOF of the most ignorant posts of ALL time. So sad, I feel sorry for this guy. As a player (target) you gotta be smart. Ergo, why players like Jerry Rice would often take the smart route and simply go out of bounds a lot rather than fight for that extra 10-20 inches. So, Banks got hurt because he's stupid now. This gets better by the post.

Ah, no.Oh, you said it all right. You are still clueless to the fact that his momentum was carrying him out of bounds during the hit. I know how badly you want to pin this on Banks in your ongoing effort to criticize ANYTHING Jaguar related, but you're flailing away here at thin air. Maybe you should watch a clip of the run again before keep passing judgment on Banks. You're making yourself look foolish with each and every post you make about it.

Yea this is a stretch even for him

Quote:I remember Tavian Banks performance in a preseason game vs the Dallas Cowboys (the Jags just rolled over them like 40-20 or something.....Tavian made Dallas defensive players look stupid trying to tackle him. He scored 2 TD, IIRC. Dude. Every running back does this. Just bad luck for him
Quote:But if I cant pick Rob Johnson based on who he turned into and had to do it based on their actual play, I'd go with Garrard. Even though he was an average at best starting QB, he was a starting QB nonetheless. He was essentially the equal of Leftwich who we grabbed in the first. Definitely an increase in value. And obviously the most important position. Wow!!! Tavian Banks, now there's a name I haven't heard in a long long time. What a real shame what happened to him with that questionable hit. I remember a reporter asking coach Coughlin about his newly bleached blonde hair and Coughlin's response " I don't see the hair" lol.
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Quote:No, actually I didn't.Saying he wasn't smart enough to avoid the hit is in fact calling him stupid. I see you completely ignore the fact that his momentum was carrying him. Since you're not touching that one with the proverbial ten foot poll, I assume you googled it and saw that you're completely off base about the hit. Despite your flailing and desperate attempts to make this somehow the fault of the Jags, it was not.

Unbelievable that this thread has degenerated into a argument about Tavian Banks. He was nothing special in two years, and then was injured and out of the NFL. Lots of RBs look good in preseason, remember Toston? Banks was Deji Karim, except that he was injured before he would have been cut.
For the pick I'll go Garrard. I was not a big fan of Garrard, but he was a decent starting QB in spite of having horrendous WRs and only one year (2007) with a quality OL. Those who choose Rob Johnson = Fred Taylor have a reasonable argument, but the Jags got lucky picking Taylor, Coughlin wanted Curtis Enis that draft. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?"

Lots of RBs look good in preseason, remember Toston? Banks was Deji Karim, except that he was injured before he would have been cut. Wow, I disagree. I thought Tavian was indeed something special. He had legit 4.4. speed (if not faster) and quickness that was off the charts. I guess you don't remember some of the brief flashes of brilliance he'd show. I remember him taking a short pass almost 50 yards in the Miami MNF game, and he'd always make huge plays when he got PT in the pre season. His biggest issue was he was behind both Fred and James....then came the hit vs Atlanta that knocked him out for good. I firmly believe had he stayed healthy, he would have been our version of Darren Sproles (before Sproles was ever known).
Quote:Wow, I disagree. Yes, we disagree. As a Jags fan I wanted to see Banks become the star player that people here make him out to be. But I never saw anything more than a journeyman. Coughlin was talking about moving him to WR. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?" We show less advertisements to registered users. I voted for Rob Johnson because trading him for a 1st rounder essentially got us Fred Taylor.
I am shocked more people havent picked Cecil Shorts III, if the team had a better QB and OLine & one other great WR I think he would look better.

He's had two good but not great years. I hope ten years from now he'll win this no contest. "Why should I give information to you when all you want to do is find something wrong with it?"
