Possible 3 way trade
|
Quote:The good news for the Jaguars is despite the Texans having pick # 1, it seems impossible the Texans will be able to draft an Andrew Luck caliber prospect this year. The Colts were very fortunate to bottom out in a season in which a QB like Luck was available. Most teams aren't as fortunate.Well it actually all tied into the Jaguars' run of rotten luck...no pun intended. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

If the Pats are looking for an older veteran WR wouldn't it make since to try to pry Andre Johnson from the Texans? He's not happy with his contract situation, losing a step, and the Texans aren't making a SB no time soon IMO. A player for player Mallet for Johnson would be favorable for both sides.
"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."
Quote:Trading your 33rd pick for Mallet is a laughable trade for the Texans. lol...."stocking up on draft picks,....." what? you mean 4th, 5th & 6th rounders? 3rd day picks?? ![]() ![]() Uh, no. If we were stocking up on 1st, 2nd, 3rd and maybe even high 4th rounders, I'd agree...that that is the right way to winning/ building in this league. Odds are, maybe ONE of the entire lot of "all these extra late rounders" becomes anything of impact. Look at the way Dallas built its SB teams in the 1990's. That wasn't with an influx of late rounders, it was with a bunch of HIGH draft picks. Same with many of the better teams over the past X number of decades. You need to get really lucky per statistical analysis to find impact players via later round picks.
Quote: Better than nothing, which is what we would have gotten otherwise, We can use the 4th & 5th from Monroe and this 6th to move up to select specific players we have targeted a few spots ahead of where we draft. Unfortunately we didn't have a lot of pieces or opportunities to trade back for a king's ransom, but looking at what Caldwell is doing is making me excited. He is clearly willing to win by drafting and values draft picks a lot more than his predecessor. That is a good thing.

Quote:Better than nothing, which is what we would have gotten otherwise, I agree with the above. At least thats presented reasonable. The last line especially I am in agreement with.
If the Texans get Mallett and the Jags get Bridgewater, both will be jockeying for cellar dweller for the next few years.
What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
It would be kind of fun to see this trade happen just because we dont see it very offten.
Usually when something is too stupid to be true, it's not true. Isn't Steve Smith is about to be released? Old wide receivers about to be released don't have 2nd round (practically 1st round) value. What purpose does he even serve in this trade?
