Attending the Nfl draft

(This post was last modified: 02-25-2014, 10:21 PM by Dakota.)

Best fares are 168 round trip, but it's into JFK. That's the 7th through the 11th. Just did a quick search with little to go on. Still, not a bad deal. The hotels will get you though. Not a terribly cheap trip, all things considered.

On a related note, I find it ironic that people are willing to go to NYC for a draft, yet this town has a reputation for people not wanting to go to a local game. I know it's [BAD WORD REMOVED], but you know some loser at ESPN would bring it up in a heartbeat.

Edit: for a dollar more, you can get into LaGuardia.

It would be a dollar well spent.

From personal experience.

Quote:I heard about them too.

Problem is, the draft is a really LONG broadcast, and I have a DVD recorder, which means to have acceptable picture and sound quality, I have to switch DVDs...which is difficult to do from New York.

This doesn't even get into excluding commercials.

But I thank you very much for the suggestions, and I will consider them strongly for my future digital archiving needs.
I wasn't actually talking about a DVD recorder.  Call Comcast and sign up for a month of DVR.  You can record the entire draft and you don't have to keep changing a little disc.  You can even turn it off and on with your phone from NY and skip the commercials.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

You can do that?

LOL.  No idea, it's just my backup plan in case the VCR stops working.

No doubt. I know that moving it to Thursday and Friday nights have probably bumped up ratings a bit and that's what matters. The die-hards are going to watch anyway so appeal to the people that might not watch on the weekend but will in primetime.

But yes, it also ruined a good weekend for a lot of us. I used to love waking up on Saturday morning and settling in for a two day draft binge. Noon on Saturday was the best. Sadly, those days will never return.

Amen and amen. I would be okay with a Friday night First round, but that won't pull the ratings. With a Friday night First round, you could have a whole weekend around the draft. It's just too bad that the NFL rates the TV fans above the football nerds.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!
