Attending the Nfl draft

#1

I was thinking about flying up to New York to attend the draft this year! Has anyone previously attended the draft and could give me some Info on how to guarantee I get in?

Idk but it sounds fun, since we have a top 5 pick every year it's become something I look forward to watching each year.

If you go, line up early. Think about how early you'd have to be to be the first guy in the door keeping in mind that they let maybe 1,500 people in. And then add two more hours to that.

I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.

Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say!

I looked into going this year. Airfare out of Jacksonville isn't bad but hotels are easily 300+ a night if you stay in the city.

Hook up with BCB. They usually have a large group go up and all of them got in last year.

Ive been to the draft when we drafted Alualu.....few thoughts on it..First I live in NY so it wasnt that much of a pain but you have to line up the day before the draft to get a voucher and then go  back the night of round 1 so its kind of a pain and you cant get off line to do anything you will lose your spot...also I would recommend to go with a good amount of people I only went with one friend and its cool but it can get very boring after most of the players that attend the draft get selected.. But they did have some cool giveaways like a string backpack and some other goodies....not many jag fans attend lol...but overall its a cool experience and also NY is an amazing time and so many good party spots so if you can do it I would def go but if you can go with a few friends it would make the experience so much better...one last thing the seating is random if I remember right so 1st come 1st serve really doesnt do anything..I was in the middle of the line and sat all the way at the top of radio city but there are no bad seats

I know D6 used to attend yearly, but I'm not sure if he's still doing this or not.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I'd like to visit the big apple, but I am too accustomed to sitting in front of the TV having a draft party to actually attend live.  Besides I like to record the draft.

I've always enjoyed draft parties myself. It seems like that's where the true football nerds congregate.

Absolutely!  You could cook out and take your time doing it.  The only change they made to the draft I even come close to liking is the shortening of the time between picks in the first round.

I hear there are machines that will record TV shows for you when your not even home.

When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

I heard about them too.

Problem is, the draft is a really LONG broadcast, and I have a DVD recorder, which means to have acceptable picture and sound quality, I have to switch DVDs...which is difficult to do from New York.

This doesn't even get into excluding commercials.

But I thank you very much for the suggestions, and I will consider them strongly for my future digital archiving needs.
