Quote:We'll  have to use our second rounder to get him with the way his draft stock is rapidly rising right now, and even then we may have to trade up to jump a team that needs a QB that didn't get one in the first...like potentially Houston, the Browns, and Raiders, who will all be ahead of us in the second round.

If the Texans, Jags, Browns, & Raiders dont take a QB in the first...what teams are going to be left that need a QB that bad? If the Texans, Jags, Browns, & Raiders dont take a QB in the first then that means those teams would probably be trading back up into the first to land Teddy, Bortles, Manziel, or Carr.

I would consider trying to grab a top DE in FA and then grab Watkins in the first then grab the best QB available at our spot. If the Texans grab Clowney and the Jags don't get a QB in the first that might make some of the other teams feel better and then we might not have a run on QB's...maybe Bortles drops to the 2nd?

We pick 7th in the 2nd round I believe. I would be surprised if Bortles or even Carr drops that far. Mett might be there along with Fales and Garoppolo.

Quote:No we wouldn't, because that means they would have drafted Clowney (ignoring Bortles for the time being).

Or we don't draft any of them and go defensive/trade back with our first pick.
Makes no difference if Bridgewater picks em apart twice a year

If not Bridgewater, Jimmy g in the second, maybe even trade up for a late 1st to get him

I feel that he will be better than Bortles and Manziel

His last name starts with "Ga" though.

Dude is terrible.  He only averaged 30 yards a punt last year (7 punts) and 38 yards on his 2 punts this year.

And it has double letters.

In fact his name is almost as similar to Garrard's name as Gabbert's.

I think he'd be an okay pick as a second QB like Kirk Cousins in the 4th or 5th (or 6th...).  I wouldn't want to rely on him being our starting Quarterback.  Just like I wouldn't want to rely on Matt Scott.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Daniel Jeremiah, the ex-scout being used by NFL Network for Senior Bowl TV coverage, stated a couple times during the practice coverage that he's confident that Garappolo has likely moved himself into the 2nd round (and 3rd at worst).

I didn't say all those teams wouldn't pick QBs, I said potentially for teams that didn't. You're naive if you think every team that needs a QB in the top 5 will take one.  I don't think we will.

There's no guarantee Bridgewater will pick anything apart in the NFL. I'd say it's a pretty close to guaranteed thing Khalil Mack and Jadeveon Clowney will dominate though.

One prospect's loss and is another prospect's gain.  I have a feeling McCarron will regret missing out on the Senior Bowl.  Wasn't Jimmy's SB spot originally belonged to McCarron?

And if they add Clowney, maybe they can double their wins at 4 and match what we have this season.

Nope it's better than Teddy's if you want to compare.

Well they did go 10-6 and 12-4.  But hey, those seasons don't matter do they?
