hmmmm....I would say take a flier on him in the 4th or later...but we still need a franchise level QB...

4th?  We may need to use our 2nd rounder on him.

Clowney/Barr/Bortles

Garrop/Ford

I am not sold he is shooting up boards that quickly just yet...I would be very weary of him in the 2nd...39th overall is still a high enough pick he needs to produce.

We'll  have to use our second rounder to get him with the way his draft stock is rapidly rising right now, and even then we may have to trade up to jump a team that needs a QB that didn't get one in the first...like potentially Houston, the Browns, and Raiders, who will all be ahead of us in the second round.

He's been projected as a 3rd rounder much of the season so him going in the 2nd wouldn't be unlikely

Jimmy G would be great option, won't be surprised if Caldwell decides to go watkins in the 1st and Jimmy G in the second.

If the texans don't grab Bridgewater, we win!!!!!!!!

Too hard to pronounce.  If we couldn't differentiate Byron from Brian .... and Garrard from Jarrard .... how the heck do you think the Jacksonville population is going to do with this dudes last name?

pass.

Interesting, I am warming up to taking one of the guys available in the second wave over the first wave guys. I will leave it to Dave to decide though.

Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster

whoever said Dee ford in the second is in the same page I am. Jimmy g to me is not even a more interesting/promising prospect than Aaron Murray and he could probably be grabbed in the 4th.

I'm really warming up to the prospect of this guy.

Maybe. Also likely.

This reminds me of everyone wanting Matt Scott in the 3rd last year.  I think Garappolo will be better than Scott, but I don't think he'll go before the 4th round.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

If EJ Manuel can go as high as he did, its more than possible Garoppolo can go before we pick again in the second round.  Lets face it, by the end of the first round, teams that didn't get a QB yet are going to be reaching and there is no guarantee he will be there when it is our turn again in the 2nd.  If we pass on a QB in the 1st and there is no one worth a 2nd round pick and we have to pass again and go with Henne for another year, I'm going to lose my mind.  Lets face it, if this team progresses, we will have to trade a boatload next year to get back high enough to get a top rated guy next year.

To me the answer is obvious, you gotta go with Bortles, Bridgewater or Manziel.  My only hope is that there are two left and we get to atleast decide who we want instead of having the decision made for us. I'm still leaning Bortles at the moment, with Bridgewater a close 2nd.  Regardless, I'd be happy with any of the 3, though Manziel scares me some.

EJ Manuel was the first QB taken.  There was no run on Quarterbacks last year.  Geno Smith lasted past our pick, and Barkley lasted until the 4th round.   In fact only one quarterback was taken each round until the 4th.

No we wouldn't, because that means they would have drafted Clowney (ignoring Bortles for the time being).

Or we don't draft any of them and go defensive/trade back with our first pick.
