Shanahan

#21

There is no way I would appreciate Shanahan coaching any facet of the game on one, or any of my favorite teams.

I agree with Sammy. If either Shanahan came here, especially the cheating older one, I would hate it.

Not a fan of Fisch still.  But I think with 4 wins, his job is probably safe.  Everyone will say it's the right decision, it's players not plays.  They'll remind everyone of Koetter. But I still think we should get a better OC.  I think we'll have Fisch here for a while now.  Hope he's worth it.

Wait, I keep forgetting. Is Koetter good (2012) or bad (2013)?

And if Shanahan comes does he bring a young Elway with him?

Koetter is no better than what we have currently.  I'd argue he's no upgrade, actually.  At least with Fisch we still don't know that we've seen all he's capable of.  We know what Koetter can do and honestly I haven't ever been that impressed.

I could not have said it better myself, Samuel, I wouldn't want either one coaching any part of my team.  Shanny's (papa) success lives and dies with Elway.  He's got by on his name ever since but even that will give way at some point.

I say keep and give him a year with a decent quarterback.

This a rebuilt team with a totally new staff (except a few)....you got to give it some time before you want to blow up part and redo again.

And NO to kubiak and or shanahan or any combination thereof.

Who knows? Our talent is atrocious, so it's hard to blame an OC for poor performance. I'd be OK with one more year or a different OC.

Quote:Until Mike Shanahan says he is quitting or Dan Snyder fires him, don't think for a second about it. Jedd Fisch will be the OC in Jacksonville until further notice.

If GMs took your approach, they'd never be ready for anything.

On the other hand, Mike Shanahan did the right thing earlier this season in a situation some coaches wouldn't have:

That was cool of Shanahan to allow the Lions use of their camera/pictures.

I can't paste the link for some reason but in 2001 the NFL fined Denver and stripped them of a 3rd round pick for "cap violations relating to $29 million in deferred compensation to John Elway and Terrell Davis." They were fined again and lost another 3rd in 2005 for "cap violations between 1996-1998." Both Shanahan and Denver owner Pat Bowlen were aware of what the team did.

Al Davis often said that the SB wins during those years should be taken away from the Broncos.

Spygate got all the ink but I thought this was easily as bad as that and never really got the attention it deserved. The Salary Cap is sacred and the rock on which the NFL is built IMO.

Fisch should take plenty of justified blame.
First 8 games I think we threw 50% screen passes lol.

Quote:So it has nothing to do with the crap at QB?
exactly

though we may be struggling on offense we are hardly a complete puzzle there

give it time

i'd give him another year with his new handpicked qb and a reinforced interior and see what the offense can do

PF,  you can even add the Redskins not compiling with the NFL league office directive regarding front loading contracts as it related to the uncapped 2010 season.

When it comes to Mike Shanahan,  it's a mixed bag.

Funny, I didn't associate him with that one. It further underscores his lack of integrity.
