Forget the Bucs, it's Houston now

Quote:If Jax beats Houston this weekend, I don't think Jax is getting the #1 pick......because this won't be the last win Jax gets till seasons end in that scenario.

Let's be honest: even if they lose, you'll still be pessimistic about our chances at getting the #1 draft pick.

Quote:You don't know we will finish with the same number of losses as the Buccaneers. The possibility we can still win more games than Tampa Bay is why there is a 38-page thread about the race for #1.

It wouldn't matter if we won one more game than them because they would already have the tiebreaker.  My guess is that if we finish with one more win than Tampa Bay, we're probably picking 4th or lower.

I'll probably be pessimistic about our chances of getting the #1 pick until it actually happens. And even then I'd probably be pessimistic that they would screw it up!......thats what happens from a decade+ worth of a poorly run franchise...

I'd rather it be the other way around....where they have been so good for so long that they build up "benefit of the doubt" equity,,,

The only tiebreaker is SOS and we own that right now. This is not like the playoffs.

If ATL somehow ends up with the first pick of the draft do you think they will take Teddy? Matt Ryan was considered elite to borderline elite and they were a pretty good team last year with alot of the same players. .just something I've pondered about

The last I checked our SOS was harder than any other team in the league by far.   Where are you getting this information?

I doubt it. I think they like Ryan.

Ryan is hobbled by not having Julio, big time.  Much like Brady this year.   Check out Brady's stat line with no one to throw to this year.  Ryan actually is doing a little better than Brady this season - but their numbers are very similar.

It's amazing how much sucking you have to do to get the #1 pick... I mean with how bad our games have looked up until the bye week to think we're 1 win away from not getting the first pick... unbelievable.

No pain, no gain.

Not true at all.  We currently have a weaker SOS (including future opponents) than the other bottom teams.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I'll take your word for it. Whatever I was looking at before must have been wrong.

We could be #2 or lower if another team is #1. If another team is #1, it most likely will be Minnesota for SOS reasons.

I hope you understand the scores have nothing to do with it. A loss is a loss is a loss.

It is in my Worst Teams Tracker thread. I posted all of the schedules with opponent records and Eleventh Doctor calculated the percentages based on that.

My guess is the Falcons will do everything possible to trade down if they get the # 1 pick.   There probably will be high demand for the pick.   The NFL rookie salary structure that came into effect in 2011 makes it much easier for teams absorb the contract of pick # 1 of the draft.

Why would the Falcons even think about doing that? Matt Ryan is still a good quarterback. He is just missing Julio Jones ansd for a while he did not have Roddy White either.

You seriously overestimate your team.

That feel when Houston drafts Bridgewater and Locker becomes the next Drew Brees.

At least we have Henne! Right?

We have one of the higher SOS in the league, we played (arguably) the top 5 best teams already. We wont be winning any tie breakers for the first pick.

Just curious... is anyone hoping the Jags lose a season ticket holder?

I don't even think I can watch the game Sunday.  If we beat Houston I am going to lose my mind. I'm still bent over us beating Indy two years ago and basically gift wrapping Luck to Indy.  Way to go Jags, now lets show our Pride and beat the Texans and see if we can add Bridgewater to compete against in our division.  Then next year when we are in the basement of the league again, we can try and go for the trifecta and help Tennessee get Winston.  As you can see, this a very sore subject for me.

Whew...vent over...Just lose baby!

You guys are crazy if you think the Jags will win another game this year. Our offense is terrible and we have no one to throw or catch the ball. Our running game is nonexistent and o line is bad bad. Every team we play is better than us and will beat us. I wanna hear who we're gonna beat these last few games we have left.
