If Tom Coughlin Is Fired By The Giants, Would Anyone Be Open To Bringing Him Back To Jacksonville?
|
Do I want Coughlin back? Yes. I think the biggest error in the history of this franchise was firing him.
Do I want him back right now? No. If we were still under the Smith/Mularkey regime, this answer would be yes. Absolutely yes, but we've moved on from the whole Shack/Gene/Jack/Mike/Mel clusterfudge and have a new GM/coach combo in place to lead us to the future. As it stands, we're on our fourth head coach in three years and our third GM in six. What this organization needs now is stability, not an upheaval that would inevitably result in coaching and GM changes. I also tend to think that if Coughlin leaves the Giants, he'd be inclined to pack it in and call it a career. Coughlin's a coach in his 60's who led an expansion team to playoff appearances in four of its first five years, including two AFC Championship Games and the historic 62-7 dismembering of Dan Marino, He followed it up by going to New York and restoring the Giants to a level they hadn't seen since his old boss Parcells was running the show. Really, what else does the man have to prove? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Quote:I wouldn't mind having Coughlin come back. After all, he's the only coach that ever got us to the AFC title game, and unlike Bradley and Mularkey, actually instilled discipline in the team. He's a great coach that is why NY wont fire him.
Quote:He's a great coach that is why NY wont fire him.NY is pretty fickle, I don't know. Well, I think Coughlin will hang it up after this year, he just looks very downtrodden, especially after his, I believe it was his brother, died. Yes, it's improvement, but it's Blaine Gabbert 2012 level improvement. - Pirkster The Home Hypnotist! Media on the Brain Link! Quote:Peyton must store oxygen in that forehead of his. No way I'd still be alive after all that choking. |
