If Tom Coughlin Is Fired By The Giants, Would Anyone Be Open To Bringing Him Back To Jacksonville?

#1

I wouldn't mind having Coughlin come back. After all, he's the only coach that ever got us to the AFC title game, and unlike Bradley and Mularkey, actually instilled discipline in the team.

You mentioned Bradley & Mularkey but not Del Rio? That clown also was a poor disciplinarian.

I would welcome Coughlin back.

It would be like when Reid got fired.....he'd get another HC job in days.

I wish we could have gotten Reid.

No. We have the coach our gm hand picked.

That would be a great move by the Jaguars. He is the best coach in franchise history. And he has only added 2 Super Bowls to his resume since leaving.

How do you know what type of disciplinarian Bradley is?

I'd be open to having Coughlin return one day, but the timing is wrong right now.  We just hired Bradley, and he deserves at least a few years to see what he can do.  I don't want us to become a franchise that turns over the coaching staff every year.

Pretty sure you saying Del Rio "also was a poor disciplinarian" implies you agree that Bradley is a poor disciplinarian.

Coughlin will retire if he leaves the Giants.

I could maybe see him taking a F.O. job somewhere (maybe even here) but I seriously doubt that would happen and would not want him as a HC at this point.

He is going to be 68 when next season starts. If the Giants let him go, I don't see him coaching again.

Absolutely true.

But, I would never be open to TC returning, he's almost 70 and it's a new NFL (again). We are locked into David and Gus for 4 years and it's going to be a good ride. We knew this year would suck and it had from a W-L standpoint but we knew that was going to happen.

Who the hell voted no? Are you serious?

I'm assuming their  to young to remember Coughlin. There's a VERY short list of coaches I'd take over Coughlin, but It won't happen, if Coughlin is fired in New York I'd expect him to take a few years off. Kind of like Cower has

If he gets fired after this season it may be one of the biggest jokes I've ever heard in all of sports.

Coughlin's magic is gone and his fire is fading. The press conferences are just filled with anger and complete exhaustion from the looks of it. Bradley has shown more in 6 games than Mularkey showed his entire career. Give Bradley his fair shot.
