The error here is thinking that Bortles and Henne were about even.

Whenever Henne did have to start, we really were in trouble.

Yeah... it wasn't that they were even... it was that Bortles was having a pretty bad preseason... but just about every part of Bortles' game is way better than Henne's. Never really was as close as some would have liked to believe.
The last time I felt good about Henne starting a game... he was a Dolphin.

So a guy taking his first reps in a new offense isn't ready to start, and if the sixth-round rookie starts it would be a disaster.

...this is unexpected how?

Pretty much par the course for most backup situations.
The only other options are teams that will be mediocre or bad no matter who starts...
Or the Eagles lol
