Yeah, I have no idea what the 26th rank means but I did look how the Jags running stats out of interest. It's a small sample size, only been three games, but here's what they currently are:

Stats + Rank
3 games: 71 attempts (20th rank), 328 yards (13th), 4.6 ypc (7th), 109 ypg (13th)

This needs to be expanded a bit since Bortles accounts for a good chunk of yards. So, lets look by players.

Yeldon- 31 carries, 153 yards, 4.9 ypc
Bortles- 15 carries, 104 yards, 6.9 ypc
Grant- 11 carries, 27 yards, 2.5 ypc
Fournette- 9 carries, 41 yards, 4.6 ypc
Wilds- 4 carries, 9 yards, 2.3 ypc
Westbrook- 1 carry, -6 yards

Among QB's Bortles is 4th in rushing yards. Excluding Bortles, run game has contributed for 224 yards which would be 29th. Every teams QB accounts for some yardage though so it's roughly in that area. Again small sample size (3 games) and this all could change next week, but so far in 3 games they haven't ran the ball much.

Mahomes isn't hindsight. There were a lot of people saying we should take him or Watson. Bortles was coming off a second awful season out of 3.
OJ Howard is taking the predictable 2nd year leap. TE always start slow as rookies. A versatile athletic freak TE sure would be a nice security blanket for Bortles.
Malik Hooker aka Earl Thomas 2.0 would look awfully good next to Harrison for the next decade.
Even if we were forced to pick a RB we took the wrong one. And lots of people were saying that predraft too. LFs and Bortles' skill sets are very oil/water.

McCaffrey sure did look good yesterday. Hopefully Fournette can get healthy and stay healthy

From those numbers my takeaway is they need to get a little healthier and we'll be fine.

Jesus... some of you fans on here are just foul. The type that would eat it's own young.

I like how everybody on here knows better than the people who built an AFC Championship quality football team last year. The reason why Bortles struggled earlier on during his career is the same exact reason why this entire [BLEEP] franchise struggled earlier on when he started here. Gus Bradley [BLEEP] sucked as a head football coach in the NFL.

It's that plain and simple. Can we give Fournette another year or two before playing patty cake with the "what if" questions? Too much [BLEEP] negativity on this message board.

To be fair, if we're playing 20/20 hindsight, all of us are much better than the Jaguars Front Office. After all, we can see the future at that point.

Personally, I was thrill with the Fournette pick. But as the season started, it wasn't hard to notice that Fournette and Bortles don't click well in how they've historically flourished. But it still worked out for us, for the most part, regardless. Picking Mahomes over Fournette would have obviously hurt us a lot last year, more than it helped, assuming we don't make a big move for another HB. I'm not convinced we have one of the best Rushing offenses in the league last year with Yeldon leading the pack.

Obviously there were some defensive picks that'd help us out more long term, but not so much last year. So overall, I think the front office made the decision that last year was the year they went for it all, and that largely affected their draft choice. It's easy to say that it was the wrong choice in hindsight, but it made sense at the time. We WERE one play away from the super bowl.

You don't take a gimp fourth overall in the draft. You know that raggedy ankle is coming soon. Wanted OJ Howard bad that draft but stupid thinking says you don’t take tight ends that high, but it’s ok to take an oft-injured running back who can’t stay on the field.
