Why can't Poz play Otto?

#21

Quote:They don't need to trot him on the field at a position to figure out if he fits or not. They work with this guy every day in practice.

The only thing putting him on the field at OTTO on game day would do is to satisfy your curiosity, which is a waste of time.

As far as Caldwell not being able to find player to fit, Seattle's OTTO was a FA this offseason.

Have they worked Poz as an OTTO in practice? I doubt it. Of course it should be tried out in practice before he does it in an actual game.

Skuta had 1.5 sacks last year, Poz had 1.0, and Poz is better in every other phase of the position. Based on the actual production there's no reason to think that Poz couldn't do better than Skuta at OTTO. The bigger question is what would the drop off be at MLB with Jack instead of Poz, and is Poz that much better than Skuta to make up the difference?

In any case we'll never know. Gus isn't that innovative.

If Poz is playing the SKOTTO position, who will cover the other team's WR1?

Poz, Smith, and Jack are out best LBs. Get them on the field together and stop trying to force this scheme that's garbage unless you have the talent of the Seahawks.

He should so he's off the field for 70% of the snaps...

Imagine what Caldwell is thinking ... Jack no playing time and Malik Jackson on the bench.

The GM is in charge of obtaining talent whereas the coach is in charge of making them productive.

It is a very interesting question that it seems nobody has even considered until now. Moving Poz to OTTO and Jack to MLB might just upgrade two positions.

With the way our defense lines up sometimes Poz is actually the SLB and Telvin is the MLB.

Didn't daryl smith do that? Or was it the other way around?
