It's 22/23 all over again.
I remember starting my Duval fandom right after the Jags kicked the Chargers tail here in Los Angeles. Team then proceeded to lose their next 5 games. Record... 2-6 Proceeded to make the playoffs and win the AFC South. It's a 1 game playoffs every week. And in case anyone forgot , Mike Caldwells defense in 22/23 was also notorious for not having defenders in the right positions on the pitch...and we didn't have this season's version of Allen, Armstead and Walker. That 22/23 team also only put up 6 points in the first game against the Houston Texans that year. I'm not saying I'd bet on the Jags to win any of their next 4. I'm just saying... The Raiders beat the Ravens...in Baltimore... Anything can happen on any given Sunday.

Defense is horrendous and our offense has to be immaculate to make up for that. Is it possible? Sure, but I don't think we win more than one.
A poster HERE, back in October 22' said this...
Quote:I live in St. John’s so I’m forced to watch this mediocre team play week after week and listen to the delusional fans spout “Next year. Super Bowl bound. They are getting closer.” Your absolutely right it is a team sport. How do you expect to win a team sport if your defense gives up the long ball every week/can’t make a stop when needed/ your O line can’t block/ your QB has a tendency to throw interceptions or fumble/ and your OC can’t seem to figure out how to call The Jags proceeded to win their division. The Jags may end up losing their next 4 games...but until they lose the next one, I'm going to believe that they have it in themselves to win against the Packers. They probably won't...but they probably weren't expected to beat the Cowboys and Ravens back in 22, yet they did.

Everything is possible when there aren't great teams standing in your way. This team could do it, will they? Just watch and we will see.

We've won 2 of the last 3. Not a winning streak but it is trending in the right direction. Next step... winning streak.

I know it looks like teal drank talking, but we all as jags fans watched the games more closely than the rest of the country. We know it could be 5-2 or 4-3. Okay this is going to come down to the offensive. This offense is supposed to be one of the best in the league. The defensive will play fine if they can play with leads. Let’s see what happens. If by some miracle we split the next 4 then we are 4-7. The only thing that wins the division from that point is going 6 - 0 to end the year IMHO. I dont think 9-8 wins this division, and the WCs are most likely going to come from the AFC North with records better than that.

Need to put a game together against a real contender, and the chance is this sunday.... but if youre thinking playoffs after beating the patriots a college level talent team.. idk man

Every team looks beatable this year. The formula against the Pats can beat anyone if we're physically gashing them for first downs over and over. I hope we use the teal on black uniforms. Those are the real ones in this era.
We’re not winning Sunday unfortunately. I can’t see a 2022 miracle run in the cards either

And yes, we should be able to hang with playoff caliber teams. 2 wins coming against the bottom is not ideal, but the first step to getting good is winning the games your s'pose ta. Keep doing that, and maybe steal a few from teams who are equal or better than you, and the season will turn out fine. Maybe dominating the cellar dwellers is the first step to getting that confidence that you can beat the teams you should, and maybe even that you can beat the teams you shouldn't.

Are the Jags that much worse than the Texans? If Lloyd and Johnson weren't playing solid minutes vs. ...well anyone, we may have two more wins than we do. It took forever for the offense to figure things out, but it appears they have. If the Texans can "almost" beat the Packers, the Jags should have a shot. Detroit and Minny? Not so much.

I can’t see a 2022 miracle run in the cards either I honestly have no idea what to expect Sunday, but I do believe that tinhorns' pass D is significantly better than ours. Their biggest problem against the pack was no next man up to carry Nico's load. The true test will be whether we can find ways to stretch out that D with a plethora or weapons or whether we crumble under the pressure of a formidable opponent. Our Defense has to get stops, though, can't let the game get out of hand early, especially if we are going to continue to lean on the run and TOP as a strategy to win.
