Is Ramsey another Sherman/Peterson?

Although Ramsey is really fast, he is not as fast as Deion, he is not the playmaker Deion is, not the kick or punt return Deion is, nor does he have the hands or ballhawking skills Deion did. Ramsey is a better tackler, plays more aggressive, and can hit harder but thats about as far as it goes
Deion lol I believe he can develop into a good corner. Maybe even great. But until he makes routine int during real games. This shouldn't even be a topic. In order to be elite. You have to be a play maker. We have yet to see that in Ramsey. And I still don't care about a ball machine.
Real nfl level games and a ball machine no where near close. And Deion can catch. He proved that as a two sport athlete as he played base ball too for the atlanta braves as a out fielder.

#Gojags Quote:In the near future other message boarders of other teams will be opining if their newly drafted player will be another Ramsey. He will set a completely new bar. All hail Ramsey. So wait he's gonna become a Pharaoh now? A chosen God on earth here to lead his mortal subjects?
I wouldn't even compare him to those guys because there hasn't been anyone like him. His speed, length, athleticism, competitiveness and tenacity hasn't ever been seen in a corner in the NFL. We got one of the great future players and I am excited to witness it from the beginning.

Hit like Night Train, cover like Deion, last like Woodson.

I never said he'd be deion in talent. I said to have a sanders career.

He wasn't a very good corner at FSU, whereas Deion was the greatest corner FSU ever had. Jalen excelled at safety with the Seminoles, and I believe that's where he'll end up with the Jags.

Athletically and size wise, yes, he fits Peterson. That would be the best comparison. As far as Sherman? Too soon to tell. Sherman is typically locked down on one side of the field and he has pretty good hands and ball playing ability. Ramsey was moved around too much at FSU because they honestly had a really talented and loaded secondary the first two years he was there. So we don't really know if he's got great hands or not yet in pass coverage. I think he'll be a solid cover corner though and he should be able to blanket most receivers. It's just a matter of how he's going to be utilized. Is he going to be played like Peterson and go wherever the opposing number one receiver goes? Or is he going to be left all alone on side of the field like Sherman? If he has to move around like Peterson he's going to win some battles and lose some battles. That's just how it goes.

Quote:I stopped reading there.he really wasnt all that great at corner. He was drafted on potential, size, and his combine numbers more than his play at corner in college Quote:Athletically and size wise, yes, he fits Peterson. That would be the best comparison. That's just how it goes.As to the part in bold, this has been true for the overwhelming majority of his career. But it's my understanding within the last year or so, they started moving him around. As to your post overall, I agree with your overall assessment, but with one minor quibble. Irrespective of whether they keep him on one side of the field or not, he's going to win and lose his share. But I think Ramsey has a good future here. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

Quote:I stopped reading there. As a Seminole fan, I saw him play every game. He was a terror at safety. But at corner, he frustrated a lot of fans because he couldn't haul in the interception, even though he was in position to do so. That's not to say that he can't improve and become a quality corner. But comparisons of Ramsey to Deion are pretty far fetched. I also watched Deion play in college. In terms of pure coverage, Sanders was the best college cornerback I ever saw, and I'd bet fans of rival teams would agree. Ramsey is a great player, and I'm excited to have him. I think he'll wind up at safety. But if he turns out to be a great corner, I'll happily eat my words.
Chris McAlister, without the locker room/ off field stuff is what I expect.
