When the Colts go worse than 19-2 in the AFC South, I will believe they are not the most talented team in the division. And no, it is not just Luck. They beat Jax and Houston with Hasselbeck at QB.

I think the Jaguars have a lot of talent on the roster.  The problem is, I don't think we have more talent than any other team in the league.  I think teams with less talent can still be competitive and win football games, but we don't have heart.  Gus has no blasted clue how to get this team to come together and play with heart.  

 

The talent aspect is frustrating, but it doesn't bother me near as much as the heart.  I think we play with less heart than anyone else except maybe Miami.

There is no doubt we have a lot less talent than other teams, but let's not forget we were one play away from beating the Colts and except for a few turnovers we could have won the next two games as well. The offense is much better than it was last season but turnovers are killing us. So I think there are several less talented teams on offense. There definitely are less talented special teams elsewhere in the NFL with so many kickers being cut for performance reasons.

1) We almost beat the Colts without Andrew Luck....not exactly an impressive feat.

2) Turnovers weren't the only reason we lost both of the next 2 games....also they were against 2 other bottom feeders in the league.

3) Special Teams is absolutely abysmal.  There are not many teams I think that have worse special teams.  We've already missed 2 XP's and at least 2 FG's.

We have some pieces, IMO the problem is that at what most consider the third most important position on the field (pass rusher), we have sub-replacement level talent from top to bottom.


The offense is growing and the back half of the defense is good enough to compete. But what do we see on nearly every opponents drive?


We can't get off the field on 3rd and extremely long. Last by far in oponents 3rd down conversion rate. It's not even close to the next worst team.

Yet Hasselbeck in his 40s has won more games than Luck. Luck is also pretty much the worse qb in 2015. That doesn't suggest he is carrying a bad team...

I would trade our defense for ANY in the NFL. Terrible rag tag unit that belongs in the land of misfit toys.

Sometimes talent needs to be exposed with coaching. If there's less talent, then the draft and FA were flops.
