I figured out who Bortles reminds me of.

Quote:Naw...  Garrard was strictly a 1 read QB that eventually got figured out.  His only play was that quick slant to the slot reciever.

BB5 makes all the throws.  Yes he locks on to the primary receiver a few times each game.  But he also goes through his progressions quite a bit as well.

He's already light years ahead of Garrard.
Light years ahead of the guy who was a pro bowl alternate and set a record for Touchdowns for us? I remember lots of sideline fades, rockets to the back of the end zone, and WINS. Yeah Dave just WON, with crap receivers a lot worse than Bortles has.

Blake overthrows everything deep with an arc and loves Interceptions in the end zone. Let him work on that before he is light years above Henne, let alone Garrard.

Might be the dumbest thing you ever posted, seriously. Blake is struggling big time.

This is the most ridiculous thing you have ever posted,

Anyone who has been on this board since that time will vouch for the fact that I was one of Garrards most vocal defenders.

But unfortunately, as maligned as he was, he wasn't an elite quarterback. He wasn't going to carry the team consistently. Bortles is having some growing pains, but he has much more upside and ability then Garrard.

You only laugh because you don't know about the double secret rule in the NFL, if you cut a guy named Blake Bortles you automatically are awarded the top 3 QBs in the league, then you can rotate starting Brady, Rodgers, and Roethlisberger.

2007, 2500 yards and 18 td passes (only 3 picks). You know 53 quarterbacks pulled out of the pro bowl on the AFC side that year, right? I liked Garrard, buy you're making him out to be Montana 2.0.

You gotta let him play at this point......who you going to bench him for? Henne?

He reminds me of a second year quarterback that is constantly asked to win from behind.

I remember Garrard Matching Tom Brady almost Point for point in a game. I don't think Bortles is there yet. I know he is not.

No I am just saying Garrard looks like Montana compared to Mr.Bortles.

He doesn't produce when early either. He had a golden opportunity to lead a comback and overthrew everybody.

Quote:He certainly shows glimpses of it at times.

Meh, maybe a 4 or 5 passes a game...

The other 25-30 passes, he looks legit.  Like a true all pro.  Not some all pro alternate who really didn't deserve the honor...

Oh come on.  I post alot of dumb things.  Most dumber than this one.

I honestly think you are looking fondley at hard times long past.  Besides 2007, DG was very mediocre and had alot of help with an outstanding running game.

But you're right.  We sure did win alot more under JDR than we are under Bradley.

We sure did look like a real NFL team in those years as compared to now.  On a side note...  You realize that Bortles is gonna overtake all of the jag records right?  I mean, I'm almost 91% certain BB5 is the franchise for the next 10-15 years.

Come on man how can you bash Bortles. He and the Allens are the only reason to watch the Jags on Sunday. Yea there are still mistakes but he is a 2nd year QB with an injury being asked to sling the ball 50+ times trying to keep up with an inept defense that is hemorrhaging points. Does he have a running game to help him? NO!!!!!!!

You take the good and the bad with a young QB that likes to push the ball downfield. Perhaps we should focus our complaints on our pathetic defense and inept head coach and not our franchise QB.
Make the Jags Great Again
Blake Bortles......YOU'RE FIRED!
Dave Caldwell.....YOU'RE FIRED!

He's not John Elway, he isn't going to pull off a comeback whenever one is needed.

You don't win games that way. Bortles gets blame for his interceptions but lets not sit here and act like Hoyer wasn't nearly flawless on a defense that is supposedly "built".

Bortles sucked today Anchorman against a bad team.. Not just 4-5 bad passes. He lost the game with a pick at the goal line and another pick 6.

This isn't the first time either, he seems to be regressing and holding the ball way too long.

For you to compare him against Garrard is ridiculous, Garrard was playing with street receivers, Matt Jones? C'mon!

I thought that Stupid Hate Garrard stuff was over with, I do believe it was the last time we had a winning record.

Maybe you forget since we have been in the gutter so long now.

We were extremely one dimensional, no run game and they brought the pressure. Not his best game but I don't blame the L on him
