UMich students demand no-whites-allowed space to plot ‘social justice’ activism

I dont feel oppressed, I just enjoy the irony of self-segregation.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't people go to college to learn?  Is a university not an "institution of higher learning"?

Quote:

In their demands, students explain why the new black student center is not enough, “because we want a space solely dedicated to community organizing and social justice work specifically for people of color.”

Since when is community organizing and social justice work for just black people part of actually learning anything useful?  Since when is that actually part of a curriculum?

Like I said before, it's just BLM trying to get their own special safe space.

I dunno about being oppressed... but it's damn depressing when people fight racism with racism.

Revenge? I don't desire revenge in any sense of the word. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Honestly the demands are quite stupid.

At least you get it, I must give you credit for that.  Curious what the resident race baiters on the forum such as JFC have to say about it.

If this report is true, it is stupid.

LOL at the "race baiter" comment, in the thread on the sideline forum which was about Jax being number 1 in the state for pedestrian deaths, you was the ONLY one who brought up race in that thread by stating you "almost hit a black man".
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

In the post on the sideline I was simply presenting the facts.  Just because I pointed out that it was a black individual wearing dark clothing in the dark doesn't make it a racial comment.  I just presented the facts.  Are you going to say that there is no difference between a black person and a white person when it comes to visibility in the dark?

The report is true and I'm glad that you agree that it is stupid for kids demanding a "special place" on a university campus that is actually divisive rather than inclusive.

Other people in the thread did not bring race into it, but if you wanted to state race as a "fact" then so be it. You seem to be more concentrated on what black people do wrong anyway.

Not really.  In the thread referenced I just presented the facts regarding what happened.  You seem to be triggered just because I described the person as being black which is factually correct.  The thread was about pedestrians being killed or injured, and I just described my own encounter and experience.  I don't know why you are so triggered by it.  A black person is harder to see in the dark than a white person.  That's just a fact of life.  Get over it.

I am not "triggered" by anything you say. I find it hypocritical that you accuse someone of race baiting when you bring race into a discussion that really isn't necessary.

You need to calm down and stop getting defensive whenever I ask you a question or reply to your responses.

How am I being "defensive"?  Because I back up my opinions?

Race baiting is not the same as bringing up the fact that a black person wearing dark clothing on a dark morning almost got hit by me.  I brought up factual information relevant to the conversation, yet it triggered you because I brought up a physical description of the person.  You say that it "really isn't necessary", but taking the context of what was being discussed into account, it is necessary.

Answer this truthfully and honestly.  Which would be harder to see in the dark?  A black person wearing dark clothing or a white person wearing dark clothing?

You are being defensive by telling someone to "get over it" like someone kidnapped your dog. Relax.

Alright so I must admit, I was triggered by your hyprocritical response.

It would NOT be harder to see anyone driving in the dark if you are simply paying attention to the road while driving.

Here is something that will certainly trigger you again, but it's the truth.  A black person is almost impossible to see in the dark unless they have their eyes open and/or they are smiling.  I'm by no means trying to be "racist" for that comment, I'm simply pointing out a fact.  Is that fact correct or incorrect?

You do realize African Americans have multiple skin complexions, not everyone is dark skinned right? Please tell me you understand that?

Do you think a officer will take you seriously if you accidentally struck someone because they were so black you couldn't see them?

LOL, I'm just waiting for him to come up with another excuse, or "alternative fact" about black people.
