He sat in the room with Dave and company on draft day and free agent signings. If you don't think so you are blind.

The man's a leader. Wish he could get some better coordinators but let's see how they finish the season and start next. I highly doubt this staff is going anywhere it's getting better although in baby steps

I thought it was because the team finally came together and they are all so young and inexperienced that it was just one of them "finally" moments and now that they have that W they can keep getting better. Kinda like the monkey is off their backs.

Hoping Gus can still bring us a Super Bowl in a few years.

Dave and Gus built this roster but now people want to use the roster as an excuse for Gus's futility as head coach. SMH. Really?

I've never seen Carroll, Harbaugh, Coughlin, McCarthy, Payton, Tomlin, Dungy, Cowher, Belichick, Jimbo Fisher, Saban, etc. act like that.

This team needs a head coach, not a cheerleader. He doesn't exhibit the ability to lead. The team is 1-6, sure, enjoy your first win, but not like you just hoisted the Lombardi.

Man the Jags are in trouble.

The only difference though is that they understood it was going to be a process.

Its obviously you don't.

And you know when he found out about the Bortles pick? About 2 minutes before it happened. Do you really think Caldwell is asking Bradley what players he wants and then just picking them? No. He's giving Bradley the best possible players that he can based on the scheme Bradley runs. In turn, Bradley is left with a roster that has rookies starting all over the place simply because they are the best option at their position. There's not a coach in this league that would have success starting this many rookies, but when the alternative is to start guys like Jaq freakin' McLendon, what are you gonna do?

Caldwell said the team is about were he expected it to be, entering the year.  He has a vision, and this was part of the path.  Managing expections isn't his job, this fan base fell into some serious hype.  And as a typical fan base, we seem as a whole to be very impatient.  Caldwell has mapped out his plan to buiild a winner, and we are on course for now.  Relax folks, it's not an overnighter.

If we're still having this converstion at this point next season, then we have problems.  I'd expect us to be around .500 by then.  Enjoy the ride.  Quit your [BLEEP].  Shut the [BLEEP] up.

What I understand is they built this roster but people on this board want to suggest nobody could win with this roster. What I understand is a process is suppose to be progressive, which means it is trending toward better performance. What I understand is we have 1 win after 7 games and while that is better than 1 win after 8 games last year, it's still only 1 win.

Classy ending....

But for what it's worth...we were saying the same crap last year...so I surely hope we aren't saying it next year...again.

Not worth much.  It was just torn to the ground.

We actually had zero wins after 8 games last year.

Bowanko, Linder, Bortles, Lee, Hurns, Robinson, Johnson. Those are all players who have started/are starting this year. They're also all ROOKIES. Please tell me what you would have done differently to turn this into a winning roster in year 2 of a significant rebuild. If you expected an offense that had to start that many rookies to win games early in the season I don't know what to tell you. Help is not and was not on the way.
