Henne is still our guy

Quote:Without saying that specifically, Henne gave that impression in his interview with Lageman on the post game radio show.

Yeah, it hasn't been some great secret. Most fully expected the switch to happen before the bye week.

Quote:This is where your entire effort falls apart. I've never once subscribed to the notion he has a fragile psyche that's going to leave him scarred for life by being hit. Keep flailing away though.

My main concern was that the line can't protect him, which could absolutely expose him to risk of PHYSICAL injury. You do understand the difference, yes? Or do I need to type more slowly so you can catch up?

Wouldn't want to risk a guy getting hurt playing football now, would we? We should just forfeit every game so none of our young players ever get hurt.

News flash: our line is gonna be garbage all year. So why was it a good opportunity to put him in for the 2nd half today?

Can't speak for Bradley but I wouldn't be surprised if he thought Bortles was finally ready but wanted to give Henne another chance to get it done knowing that once the bridge was crossed, it was done. Apparently the conversation had taken place among the two players and coaching staff already. It's usually not as black and white as fans think but that's why they're fans. When Henne was ineffective in the first half, it becomes easier for the coaching staff to make the decision.

This has got to be a joke. So Blake is ready but they wanted to give Henne one more chance to prove...what exactly? If they thought Bortles was ready and is the best QB on the roster, then starting Henne to give him a chance (to do what exactly?) is essentially throwing the game away.

So our franchise QB is ready to start but we will put that on hold for now to see what we have in Henne. Wow...

I tend to think this is what happened. They really like Chad and maybe felt he deserved to get another crack at it at home. I am pumped to see Bortles develop with these young WR's. I looks like he already has some good chemistry with Hurns and Robinson. Now we just get Lee in there and hopefully a good young pass catching TE in the future and we all good.

FBT hates that Bortles is playing, and has already looked better than Henne

You are really pretty simple aren't you? They thought Bortles might be ready but thought Henne might still give them the best chance to win. It is oh so easy to second guess the decision but if you think you know more than the guys watching them every day, your more clueless than you sound.

Yeah, as we've certainly learned by now in Jacksonville, whatever the front office or coaches do is the right thing. I defy anyone to find an exception where the people disagreeing with the team leadership were right...

If this coaching staff believed Bortles was ready, yet CHAD HENNE still might give them a better chance to win then they aren't competent enough to run a Burger King.

The lengths you (and others) will go to defend the company line at all costs, even when they are blatantly wrong leads me to believe you are the simple one.

agreed.

notice whenever guys like him reply, it's always responses like "i guess you're smarter than the coaches?" "well apparently the coaches dont feel like it." "coach said this so i'm going to believe what he said."

They make mistakes but I have to laugh when they get proven right by waiting to start Bortles until he was ready and people STILL say they knew better. <sigh>

Yea I am in no way implying that I know more about football than Gus, or Dave, or even Fisch (lol). Not even close. But that doesn't make them infallible. They are human beings that are entirely capable of making poor decisions. And much like the real world, people who make bad decisions in their professional lives deserve to be held accountable by their shareholders (paying fans).

And as predicted, throwing away today's game was "proving them right". Because again, playing him a half earlier was clearly not the right time yet. No, if they'd done that, it would have ruined him.

Like I said, whatever they do, it was right.

just from my message board history, those types of guys are the last ones to come around to the facts.

Guys who think they know more than people who've dedicated their lives to a craft, just because they've played a season in Madden, are absolutely laughable. And you say people who understand there's a difference between Madden and real life are the worst? Wow.

Keep trying. For the 95th time, the coaches are not above reproach and yes the coaches know more than you do. Deal with it.

They haven't botched anything here. They've pretty much been proven right based on where Bortles is at in his development compared with where he was prior to the draft.
