Ummm yes.

He was totally trashed by the media for what? Two national titles? Not playing in the Senior Bowl? Comments by his mother about Jameis Winston's fascinating way of speaking? A glamour-puss fiancée that munches cheeseburgers on TV?

Maybe the total dipstick writing for ESPN knows McCarron has a "Cousin Eddie" in his family and wouldn't want to see a country hick swimming in Gighnus Khan's concrete pond?

So declining to playing is the Senior Bowl hurts, and being an out-of-sync bonehead at a Pro Day isn't supposed to?

Gee, if A.J. McCarron is really as bad as all the Gator trolls pretending to be Jaguars' fans here then should they want McCarron to be the number one over-all pick?

yeah, i would absolutely love for the texans to take AJ #1 overall. doesnt mean i think hes bad it just means 2 things. 1. i dont think he is the best player in the draft  and 2. i dont think that would be good value for the jaguars to take him that early. i think bottom of the second round and third round would be good value for him.

He could go first over-all.

There's no way on earth a team will take Biff Bortles, Bridgewater, or even Manziel before A.J. McCarron.

A.J. was a missed FG return for TD away from a third BSC Title game. Ask FSU fans how they felt about facing Bama instead of Auburn.

I have no problem with the Jaguars drafting A.J. at three except we need a second, elite offensive tackle. We're a few guard short, and a center short of having an NFL offensive line.

Still....It's good to be McCarron...

i'll bet you anything you can think of that at least 2 of those 3 go before Mccarron.

Quote:That doesn't apply to McCarron. What you are talking about applies to underclassmen who are thinking about coming out for the draft.

And I'm glad to see that Badger thinks so highly of the Jaguars GM. Somehow I think that's what Badger would do, not Caldwell.

Whoops, I should read the posted link first.

Still, from what I understand agents get told by some group where guys are expected to go, it's not even needed for a GM to directly tell a guy. It's why the NFL invites certain people to the draft, they already have an idea of where guys are supposed to go and the guys they invite are the ones that are supposedly going to get drafted high.

Of course we see often that guys go lower than expected on a regular basis. Geno last year is a great example.

^^ This, I'm in favor of drafting McCarron just to see.  Just as long as they cut to his fiance' as much as possible, too. ^^

How many Super Bowl winning quarterback wish they'd had two elite, franchise offensive tackles?

Sacks hurt. (And I don't mean the feeling mutually shared between Teddy-lovers witnessing the sinking(Which I did predicted before it happened) of their hero client)

So drafting AJ at #3 gives us the best value for the pick?..... Yeaaaaaaa.... About that.

Quote:So you think someone like David Caldwell would sit McCarron down and lie to him?

I'm sure in his interviews discussions came up about where he may fall in the draft. It's human nature to not want to disappoint someone. I'm sure they shared what they honestly believed was his best case scenario and let him leave with a positive outlook on his situation.

If the execs believe there are some teams in that range that might draft him, then they aren't lying to him.

Maybe McCarron is grading out higher than expected then?
"Will be" and "could be" are two different things.

The title does not match what was actually said in the article. The internet is killing credible journalism. They will say anything to get a hit.

Don't like AJ in that range at all, if he was there with our pick in the 3rd round and did not draft a QB in round 1 or 2, i would take AJ

I see McCarron as a 2nd round prospect.  But, it wouldn't really shock me if there was a team that took a flyer on him late in the first round.  Teams do suspect things all the time during the draft.

Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Hopefully it's not this team making moves that raise flags.
