Johnny Manziel

Jacksonville coach Gus Bradley: “He's very talented. How can you argue with what he's done and the plays he makes? An exciting player. I'm looking forward to watching everything and I know our staff has and we're in that process. We've been watching him for quite a while and seeing his traits, but he did some great things for his team."

Jacksonville General Manager David Caldwell: "His competitiveness is intriguing. Just his ability to win and compete and move the team is something that's really intriguing."

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blake Bortles

Jacksonville coach Bradley: "Our GM and scouting staff are into that process more. To give you a complete evaluation at this point, I don't think I'm ready to do that, but I can tell you, we've watched enough that we're very intrigued by him, the traits he has -- big, tall, timing, accuracy, decision-making. Those are the things we take a close look at it. The evaluation process is never over. The Combine is important but it's just another piece of the puzzle. I'm looking forward to seeing him really compete. There's a chance to compete here and we'll keep an eye on him.”

Teddy Bridgewater

Jacksonville coach Bradley: “He's got really good poise and very good decision-making and very accurate. That's what jumps out.”

I could be wrong but the small comment about Bridge after the more detailed comments about the other players is a dead giveaway to me that Bridgewater is their guy right now.

Everyone is being tight-lipped about Ted. No one's saying much at all about him at all.

Must mean everyone wants him. At least, that's my conspiracy theory with the Texans.

Because if he is "the guy," they certainly aren't going to let us have him...

Actually thats how the Texans operate

Everything you hear about Manziel is through the Texan's media

No other team is going to open their mouth up about a prospect they like

If he is the guy everyone covets, shouldnt they be saying they want him to get everyone to trade up for him?

Pirks has never played a successful hand of poker apparently
If that RV sales place wants Tebow in Jax bad enough to take out a billboard saying as much.....they should just HIRE him.

Quote:Yea there isnt a lot of tape on him, tho he has upside he is raw, we need a guy who can come in a play right away, Teddy fits that, everybody says Teddy is the most NFL ready QB and thats the kind of QB we need, not QB's with a questions or needs to sit and learn.
But do we really "IF" the most NFL ready QB has a low ceiling? If in 5 years Teddy is say playing like Dalton but Bortles is playing like Rogers how do you feel then?

+1.

People keep saying we need a QB that can start day 1.

Why?

I would rather have the QB with the highest ceiling even if we have wait a year or two vs the QB who can start out the gate but may not be the best QB overall when its all said and done.

I'm sure most would rather have Aaron Rodgers vs Andy Dalton.

Lol....what if the "high ceiling" isn't even as good as Teddy is RIGHT NOW.....and Bridgewater will just get better. He improved every year at the Ville.

Exactly. Bridgewater will be a better QB in year 3 of his starting than he will be in year 1 as a pro.

....and if Bridgewater tops out in the NFL as the level of QB that you saw in college his last season....then guess what?....thats still pretty much a top 5 NFL QB with that level of numbers/ play.

Not sure why it is inferred as if thats a bad thing by some.

I love Teddy but Top 5? Brees Manning Brady Rodgers Ryan Newton Kaep Wilson Big Ben Luck Romo... I mean that's a lot.

I think if hes coached well and continues to improve eventually he can be top 5 but not right now.

While I agree with you on most of what you mentioned, no way Teddy would be a top 10 let alone top 5 QB right now.

A QB with 30+ TD and under 10 INT's for an NFL season along with over 9.0 YPA isn't top 5 level performance in the NFL? I disagree.

Do you understand my point there? I am saying that if Teddy puts up the kind of numbers and play he put up his last season in college in the NFL for a full season, that that would be top 5 level.

You disagree with that?

Do you realize how good those numbers were? No, they weren't Peyton Manning video game numbers....but I never said #1 level numbers, I said "top 5".

Does any team come out of a player interview and NOT say "very impressed"? Its become coach speak for this crap.
