List of QBs entering Draft

Really hoping Bortles declares now. This class could really use a third franchise QB prospect. Teddy Carr or bust is slim pickins.

Keith Price is a baller. I can see him getting drafted on day 3.
"Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, if he gets angry, he's a mile away and barefoot."
People are sleeping on my boy Garoppollo. While he wont be a first rounder, he's gonna be shooting up draft boards this spring.

I liked him a lot when he was looking like a day 3 pick. Now that he'll probably be a 2nd rounder he's too rich for my blood. I do like him a fair bit though. I don't know that he would be very successful against NFL DBs, but he is certainly quite the gunslinger. I figure he would do well with some sure-handed receivers who can create some vertical seperation downfield on double moves and outright speed. Imagine some crazy draft combination like Sammy Watkins and Marquise Lee 1/2 and Garrapolo in the third. They'd have to have to give them so much cushion on the outside and slide safeties over to help out. My god... I want this offense to happen now: Watkins/Lee/Blackmon/Shorts/Sanders/Brown at WR. All the hands! MJD would love all the 7 man fronts he'd be getting when we go 3WR/1TE/1RB. Quote:When the Clowney bandwagon still had more than a few wayward souls driving it, lots of posters were advocating to take Clowney first and try for Winston 2015. I believe this was around the time that FSU destroyed Clemson and Jameis' hype was at a fever pitch. Still driving the Clowney bandwagon Clowney round 1 Mettenberger round 2 Quote:Still driving the Clowney bandwagon Who do you have as the starting QB if Mettenberger isn't ready to go? Quote:Still driving the Clowney bandwagonStill driving the mediocrity bandwagon. No SB for us! That's what I just read. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! Quote:Still driving the mediocrity bandwagon. No SB for us! If both Bridgewater and Carr are gone, who would you propose the Jags draft for a QB? Mettenberger isn't on the same level as either of those two, but he has some physical tools to be a good NFL QB. I see some Flacco/Rivers potential in him, though I'm not sure he ever develops to that point. That said I'd easily take one of those two over CSTblank's scenario. Quote:If both Bridgewater and Carr are gone, who would you propose the Jags draft for a QB?So this would be assuming the Jags are picking 3 or later and Carr is already gone? That would be worst case scenario. I'd pray that Bortles declared and take him...and if he didn't I'd reluctantly take Clowney or Barr as of right now. I'd be okay with Mettenberger in the 2nd. Not a huge fan of the total package but he does have the franchise caliber arm. Quote:So this would be assuming the Jags are picking 3 or later and Carr is already gone? Mettenberger in the second is not a bad consolation if we miss out on the Teddy/Carr/(Bortles)=Cough=Manziel grouping. The fact that Mettenberger has gotten better as a pocket passer over the course of his career bodes well for his likelihood of being successful. His footwork and pocket presence have improved. Those are teachable things, and that would seem to imply that Mettenberger would get better with an offseason of coaching at the NFL level. Assuming his knee is healed enough by then, he could be just as pro-ready as Teddy. The problem with Mettenberger is he's just all around slow. Slow dropback, slow mechanics, slow reads, obviously very slow athleticism. If he could just speed up his entire throwing/decision making process he could be a heck of a quarterback. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! After watching the Florida game on draftbreakdown im starting to concur. He seems to be a half step slower than everyone around him and it leads to not seeing every read. It also leads to him getting WRs hit as they are open but his lack of game speed means the ball gets there right when the defender does. Now on a positive Gabbert would give his 2 fingers from his non throwing hand to have that kind of pocket presence and control in the pocket. Really knows how to manipulate the O-line and give them chances to block better. Cannon arm but needs to work on anticipation/finesse instead of relying on strength.

Unfortunately, you can't be a successful QB in the NFL if you make those molasses reads.
LEONARD FOURNETTE FAN CLUB PRESIDENT. I WAS BEHIND HIM WHEN YOU ALL SAID HE WAS BRANDON JACOBS. QUIT HATING ON THE JAGUARS. GUS IS GONE. COUGHLIN HAS RESTORED ORDER. FOURNETTE IS FRED TAYLOR. DONT BELIEVE ME JUST WATCH.

Bortles is overrated. He can't throw downfield and has a Tebow delivery. He drops the ball down before he releases. He is a right handed Tim Tebow.

Quote:I'm not going to dig up old posts from posters just to win some debate with Ricocabesa. Every year it's the same thing, "wait till next year" "better class next year" " not sold on Player x". People are afraid of drafting QB, blame some of that on past performances in draft. Won't win in league without one.I have not seen one post like that this year. Youre complaining about the large number of posters who have said that, yet when asked you wont go get your proof?
I am still a fan of Stephen Morris, he can make some ridiculous throws, he has a better deep ball than Carr IMO, he has a really good footwork and is fairly mobile. I feel like his issues are more easily fixable than people think. Sure he has some ugly interceptions but when you are 21 points behind I can understand he forces some passes.
And he can be selected much later in the draft, give me Khalil Mack and Stephen Morris and I will be happy. |
