There is no replay that shows Gipson touching a Charger with clear possession of the ball.  The refs did not see it and the replays did not show it, so how could they reverse the call?  Even if it was likely or logical that Gipson was touching the player as he gained possession, at what point did he stop touching the player and at what point did he actually have possession?  There was no basis to overturn it.

Marrone said that the call to reverse it came from New York where apparently the puzzled together different images and replays and decide to overturn it.

The replay has gotten worse since they go to NY for a lot of calls now....
Sometimes they overturn stuff that shouldn't be... sometimes they allow stuff that clearly shouldn't....

Insane... the harder they try the worse they do it seems....

Also... isn't this supposed to be the first year we have some "full time" refs?
These dudes sorry lol

There was one replay shown in the stadium where it looked like he was sitting on the Charger's leg as he was gaining possession.  However, it was never clear from that angle or any other as to when he actually gained control of the ball that we could see from the replays they were showing on the jumbos.  I watched the game again when I got home, and the TV views were even more limited.  The call probably shouldn't have been overturned, but it was.  We still found a way to win, so it's just another example of crappy officiating, which is becoming a more common theme in the NFL.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
