dude hasn't been playing much like most of last year.  i dont know if we have seen monster holes for a few seasons now.

That stats show it as well.  Our eyes aren't playing tricks on us.  They neglected the line this year.  We were hoping for some "development" and improvements because of more time in a "system".

 

We were concentrating on improving the defense this year. It has nothing to do with wanting to neglect the offensive line. We just needed to make all three levels of our defense the top priority in both the draft and free agency.

To be fair, I think his career has always been at Guard excepting like 1 game in college, 1 game in the pros and this preseason.

 

If the move doesn't pan out by the end of the season, then I would agree that he should go back to Guard.

I believe Linder is good at C and Beachum at LT. Those should be the only two "locked" starters right now though.

Cann and Parnell have their issues and oddly enough Joeckel has been the most consistent in pass and run. Could stand an upgrade or two across the board.

I do watch the misery every darn week.  Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture so you go and you pull information.  Do some research. If I just keep spouting off Fire this person, this sucks and that sucks, who the heck wants to read my tired arguments.  I went and looked at the entire Gus error to make sure it wasn't just my eyes.

You said we have basically the same offensive line as last year. That can only mean one thing: all five starters are the same as they were last year.

Cann isn't a mauler. He can't play right guard. He should be backing up probably Linder at left guard. Linder can play either, but I think I would prefer him at left guard and find a true mauler for right guard.


We need an experienced center who is big enough to hold up against the Wilforks of the world.


Beachum is a question mark at left tackle. He may be alright there... We will see.


Parnell needs to become the swing tackle. He is a career backup that got paid to start. He is weak in the run game and penalized in the pass game.


So basically, we have one, maybe two starters.

Yes, we rotate our focus on an annual basis.  Next year, we'll focus on special teams, then in 2018 we'll focus on offense, and in 2019 the trend will cycle around again to focusing on defense.

Cann isn't a mauler. He can't play right guard. He should be backing up probably Linder at left guard. 

 

Naturally powerful with brute strength to be a people mover. Generates power through his hips and midsection. Delivers pop at the point of attack with strong grip to latch and control. Strong finisher and flashes tenacity to bury his man.

I can find pre-draft expert analysis calling receivers too slow that would go on to run 4.3 40's.


He isn't a weak player, but a mauler he is not.

Beadles and Wiz are gone.

Joeckel has moved inside.

Linder has moved to Center.
