Browns got up 20 points on the Ravens last week. I bet ya Browns fans were feeling really good about their team dominating Baltimore like that. But then,,,,..

If the Jags manage to dominate the Ravens like that, we'd be feeling really good about it. But then,,, are the Jags really that much different than the Browns?

I'd be waiting for the collapse.

I don't know how deluded we can be to even think that might happen.

Well how many times has a Gus led Jags team clubbed another team and how many times has a Gus led team gotten clubbed by another team?

Which is more likely to occur?

What if Gus just beat the teams he was supposed to beat and maybe found another win or 2 against one he was supposed to lose to? What if........................................?

I survived the Gus Bradley Error.

In the last 26 years only 3 teams have made the playoffs after starting 0-3.

What at this point can save Gus' job? And on top of that, what could he do, if anything, that could make you feel comfortable with him coming back next year?

History would tell us that we will struggle in these games and lose many more than we win. And if we go 0-4 it only makes sense to move on mid season.

Then there's the issue of if the talent on the team pushes us to 7ish wins. No more blowouts but no convincing wins. There's a possibility they could give an extension, though I don't think anyone here would be comfortable with that.

Then there's another option. Granted the least likely. We come out here and blow out the Ravens. Defense starts clicking, offense starts moving the ball again, and we're winning 10ish games and a bunch in convincing fashion, never blown out again. Rattle off 5 or 6 wins in a row, beating good teams along the way. We make the playoffs and maybe even win the first round.

I'm going to hope for the last scenario. For me, if something like that happened, I'd feel Gus was able to coach this team properly.

My biggest fear however, is the second option. I really think we'll manage to win one of these next two, keeping Gus through the season.

The importance of this game isn't as great as it's being made out to be. Win or lose, this is not the game we'll remember unless it's epic in some fashion. Basically, this game is all about setting up their trip to London. If we lose, we'll be going into London 0-3, and the perception over there of the Jaguars as a loser will be greatly solidified. If we then go on to lose there, it would be catastrophic, and I could actually see Khan firing Gus. On the other hand, if we dominate the Ravens, we'll be traveling to a London fan base that's more excited than ever. A subsequent win in London would basically secure Gus' job for the season.

That said, regardless of what happens in London. the Colts results would likely have a similar impact. That is to say, pound the Ravens but then lose in London to the Colts, ...it's still not pretty and Gus might still get the ax. Or... lose to the Ravens but then beat the Colts in London. I feel that will go down as a corner turning moment wherein Gus is safe. The bottom line is, this is not truly a "must win" game ... the Colts game sure is though.

The Brits are probably going to wonder why the NFL keeps sending the Jags over there.

Like OK you got us interested in this American football thing......now send us some quality.

I've lost all respect for the bubblemasters bradley and olson.

I will immediately begin to talk about how we may have turned a corner. I will listen non-stop to sports radio and read every power ranking this week. I will convince myself that the Jags have gelled and get so excited that next week when they get crushed in London, I will be really really sad.

Going by the talent on the roster the Jaguars should be a double digit wins team this year with the division being as bad as it is, but with Gus at the helm a .500 season has to be considered an incredible accomplishment.

Going by the team's performance under Gus it wouldn't be hard to win two games against teams we're supposed to lose to, because the Jaguars will likely be underdogs in almost all of their remaining games.

The team has never built upon a strong performance under Gus.  Up and down constantly.

Having witnessed the crapfest of boneheaded mistakes made by this football team - it's going to take multiple impressive wins to change my mind about the deficiencies of this coaching staff.

Mostly down, occasional ups followed by a quick plunge to a new low.

Yeah that is the case.  I posted the winning streaks in another thread.  And we don't have anything other than losing streaks.
