This year I watch every game and in almost e ery game we've had a chance to win. No one expected a lot of wins this year, I think after the 2-1 start some of us might have drank too much Kool aid but seeing what we are now a solid 6-7 win year would be an enjoyable season with how these games have played out
Not no one lol

Go check that record predictions thread. Some were saying 10 or more wins.

Pretty sure I was on the high end of predictions as well.... especially after the drubbing of clots and bolts. But not sure I ever really truly expected it.
But there's always a handful of overly optimistic fans for every team every year. But yeah..... I'll amend and say MOST people did not expect 10+ wins.
But 3 to 6 wins with a good point differential at seasons end is great progress. Trevor coming along is a huge part of that.

I agree with this completely. There is no way we wouldn’t have caught flak for drafting a cab #1 but it wasn’t a secret that kid was good. And since he is living up to people expectations, I think he would have a been a better addition than walker.

People get hung up on position in draft while preaching BAP yet if the BAP isn’t in a certain position group they drop his value.

Yeah value does not matter if the player is a dud. Have to hit on sure fire stars at number 1 overall. Not saying walker is a bust, but Sauce would have been a great pick.

I agree

But you have to consider value

This staff thought they could get another serviceable year out of Griffin

It didn't work out that way - hindsight is 20/20 - and an edge rusher had more apparent value at the time.
He may also turn out to be a long term top tier pass rusher - we don't know yet.
Year one value can't be the entire measuring stick.

I think we always jump to conclusion too quickly.

After week 1 2 years ago it was "CJ Henderson is amazing and Minshew is the answer". Then it played out and both are no longe on the Jags.

I think when it's all said and done, Walker will turn out to be the right pick. He has power and speed that if he puts it all together, he can be like Khalil Mack.

Sauce is definitely incredible but if I had to choose, I would take a pro bowl pass rusher over a pro bowl corner.

Breaking down game film from another loss to instill hope seems so contrary. Yay, Trevor is so good. Here’s another L to add to your vast collection.

Hope and optimism are laughing and talking about us behind our backs.

(sigh) Being a Jaguars fan is so difficult sometimes.

I'd take a pro bowl tackle or receiver over either one. It's an offense league now.

Trevor’s stats through 10 games:
65.2% completion rating
2334 pass yards
6.7 yards per temps
13 passing TDs
Six interceptions
178 rushing yards
Three rushing TDs
Six fumbles

I think if he continues to finish out the season strong, then we were going to be really happy overall with the year.

Assuming he stays healthy, he has a great chance.  He's currently on pace for 3,967 yards.

I was dead sold on Sauce Gardner being the best player in this draft, if I was the GM he would have been my pick and I wouldn't have hesitated. But with that said, I'm far from mad that we took Walker I think once he develops a bit more he could be a monster of a player. It's annoying and I get it, because Sauce is already playing like a pro bowler out the gate but in time i'm sure Walker will be one of our key players.

Considering there is 17 games now, that should be pretty standard. It's only an average of 235 a game.

Tyson Campbell has allowed a lower completion rate than Gardner this season.

Last season only 10 QBs surpassed 4000 yds in a 17 game season.

So, if "standard" means "upper 30%" then yeah, it's "standard.

KC we left 10 points on the board. possible 13 to 17 if Kirk catches that bomb.
5 games the defense faltered at the worst time.

so we could easily have 6 or 7 wins. at min. 5.

hwut

so you'd prefer that we *weren't* competitive? When we look like a baboon's backside out there I want heads to roll. We lose by 10 to one of the best teams in the league, and lose by less than that to probably the best team this season while committing 5 TO? I'm at least encouraged to understand that if we iron out a few wrinkles, those could end up wins as we mature.

thanks for the chuckle.
No you misunderstood.  I said when you lose big is easier to deal with cause you know your team sticks you didn't have a chance.  Than losing close ones cause they hurt more cause you know we're better than 3-7. We should be at the min right now 6-4. But hey we didn't finish out those games.

I still have faith we go on a roll after the bye.

1st Quote: Yes I'm aware Campbell is good, sadly he can't play multiple spots at one time.

2nd Quote:

According to information found on google, from 2010 to 2019 the average passing yards per game by any given team is 234. Which would indicate that 3,978 yards passing is average, now we can nit pick if you'd like but I think the difference of 22 yards is rather negligible.

But whatever. "Last season blah blah blah"

Yeah, does that account for how many games specific QBs missed etc? probably not, but whatever.

What a [BLEEP] [BLEEP] attitude.  If you can’t see improvement with the whole team this year…

Oh never mind.
