The 2024 Olympics

They're on a court about the size of a basketball court with 7 or 8 players on each team and a netted goal on each end with a goalie. They play with a small ball about the size of a dodgeball which must be dribbled for so many steps they take. The objective is to throw the ball into the opposing team's net. I've never seen it before and don't know what it's called because the station info was saying Men's Soccer. Not a clue. I think we’re now just making things up as we go. We can call it whatever we want. And we may or may not be good at it. Let’s call it bullSoccerdodgeshitball? We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

My favorite event so far is the men's 1500m. And the men's 400m. Both of those races, the winner came from behind with pure determination and guts.
And I would also mention, we may have seen the greatest Olympic athlete ever. No one has ever won a gold medal in the same event in 5 straight Olympics. Mijian Lopez of Cuba has now won 5 straight gold medals in the 130kg division of Greco-Roman wrestling.

USA BEATS SERBIA!
USA USA USA Steph, Lebron and KD took over. What an incredible game. Haven’t yelled that like during a basketball game in a while. Speaking of making things up as we go, real creative name there, gang. Sounds like water polo for the hydrophobic. Running in the rain like they are today cannot be as fun.

These Olympics have been very entertaining. While several of the USA men have shined, I've been most impressed by the women. McLaughlin-Levrone, Gabby Thomas and Katie Ledecky have been my favorites so far. Tara Davis-Woodhall's victory and reaction in the long jump was also very memorable. Cole Hocker's performance in the 1500 meter was equally memorable.
While I always pull for the American athletes, the performances of Leon Marchand from France and Mollie O'Callaghan in swimming were incredible. The biggest surprise was swimmer Torri Huske from the USA who won 3 gold medals and 5 overall. The dedication shown by these athletes to reach this stage is extremely impressive and admirable. Finally, the overall sportsmanship shown by the athletes (winners and non-winners) has been equally impressive. Our politicians could learn a lesson from these athletes in this area! Couple people from my town won medals in swimming (Ledecky being one of them) so that was also really cool to see.

Especially the mountain stages when a peloton of 140 riders are descending curving country roads. Plus the idea of being wet on a bike for 5 hours is just....ick. Back in my running days, I liked to run in the rain when the weather was hot. Especially when I was naked and the police were chasing me. But that's another story.
Should be in the Olympics.

I’ll be honest. This was one of the best Olympics I’ve watched in a long time.
2008 was pretty amazing too. |
