I wish I could have listened to Mike Mayock during the draft. Can anyone post some quotes from the telecast?

He basically called us a playoff team. We don't suck anymore.

He did not explain why we should be a playoff team? The whole division is getting better.

JW, he said we were a playoff team bc we pick Ramsey and Jack. Both whom he thought were the best 2 defenders in the draft.

Of course the division is getting better but we have arguably the best QB and offense. Osweiler is garbage. Our defense should be exponentially better this year.

It should be a great year for the Jags.

Talk about a talent infusion! Whew.

The free agency was awesome and the draft was able to top that. Dave said influx of pass rushers, we got it.

Also, I'll bet Yannick has better pass rush ability than Vernon.

Now the question becomes, "Do we need to win the AFC South?"

Yes. There's more than enough talent on the roster for that to happen. The division is better all around but I wouldn't trade our roster for anyone's in the division at this point.

Why is that even a question?   :ermm:

No one asked that question except you. That's the next logical step in measurable progression.

Because there are two ways to get in the playoffs - division title or wildcard.

Watching a post draft "Path to the Draft," of all the different talking heads, they (Charlie Casserly, Ray Farmer, Mike Mayock) were nearly universal in lauding the Jaguars and believe they are poised to make the leap to playoff contention.

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

No team goes into the season with the goal of getting a wildcard spot. Every team wants to win their division. It's not a question.

I did not say it should be our goal.

Of course that's the goal. Why wouldn't it be? Bengals and Steelers will take the North and a WC spot.

Our best chance will absolutely be to win the South. It's pretty obvious so I'm not shocked you don't get it.
