Some heads are going to explode around here when Joeckel's fifth-year option is picked up.

Quote:Nope, he didnt. One of the doom and gloom es around here. I'd just let him continue to dwell in his dark, dark place. Any educated person that realizes LT isn't what it once was can tell you Joeckel is middle of the pack and hes decent enough out there for now.

No one's saying he good, but getting beat once or twice a game is going to happen to most every lineman. If you would put an average Joeckel game in there for that Texans game I doubt there'd be close to this much hate. But, because he had one terrible game he's like the worst LT of all time.

Makes perfect, logical sense.

^I certainly agree with this.

Joeckel can be much better, that's for sure. But, he's not near as bad as some make him out to be. It's unfortunate that his worst game of the year (yes, it was terrible) happened to be the very last one of the season. That's the lasting image of Joeckel until next season.

Prior to that game, he was not that bad this year. Giving up 1 or 2 plays a game is going to happen even to the best LTs in the game. Heck, Andrew Whitworth gets a crucial holding penalty and false start almost EVERY SINGLE GAME. However, I'd sure be happy of he was the Jaguars LT.

Joeckel is good enough for now. He needs to get better, yes. If he doesn't get better, he won't be around for too many more seasons. But he will still be here for the forseeable future.

If I am correct the Jags are on the books for $6,745,963 this year for Joeckel regardless of he is on the roster or not so it would make zero sense to cut him no matter what your opinion of him. He is at least serviceable even if he needs to be upgraded.

Does this mean we can run to the left now?

It may look like nascar by comparison.

The problem with Joeckel is Joeckel. He has Boselli at his disposal and won't pick up a phone to take advantage of all the knowledge that comes from Hall of Fame level experience. It makes no sense for him to brush off Tony's repeated offers to work with him when there is clearly room for improvement.
Only a chump boos the home team!

I heard that too. I will never understand why Luke won't take advantage of it. Doesn't he know how much premier left tackles are paid?  What a knucklehead.

As with Clemons, I wish Beadles good luck going forward.  Too bad Beadles didn't work out as originally hoped.

Best of luck to Zane.

He should catch on with a team running ZBS.
Respect the game.  Play with a sense of urgency.

1.)  Take care of the ball.  Win the turnover battle.

2.)  It's all about 3rd down.  Win on 3rd down to win the game.

3.) Playmakers make plays.  The only reason that you put your uniform on is to make plays. In order to EARN your paycheck, you must make plays.

Learn from the great collapse of 2023.

"Joeckel is safe"

Truth is, he's not "safe" until the option is picked up, or he's extended.
