Using the ESPN Playoff Machine for a likely finish and looking at the bottom teams, I'm thinking we pick 10th (7th at the earliest)...


1. Browns 2-14

2. Titans 3-13

3. Chargers 4-12

4. Rams 4-12

5. Redskins 5-11 (assumes Eagles beat Redskins)

6. Dolphins 5-11

7. Cowboys 5-11

8. 49ers 6-10

9. Lions 6-10

10. Jaguars 6-10

So he should say it that way. Also, why should we do it in the first round if Vernon Hargreaves is available for the picking? We have 7 rounds to play with and can trade picks in all of them.

Don't worry about the Browns, who already have 10 losses. Obviously we can't root for Tennessee (3-9).

Actually, I listed SF as having 6 wins... although I must have overlooked Baltimore. Adding Baltimore would mean a 6-10 record would have the Jaguars picking between 8 and 11. I do have the Eagles, Raiders and Falcons with 7 or more wins.

I did not look at it either, but do know other teams have weaker schedules than ours.

There are 10 teams with 4 or lower wins in the NFL.   We'd have to lose out to even have a chance (and last year the 4-12 teams picked 5th and 6th anyway).  It's not going to happen.  And even if it does, it's definitely no likely.  

 

We're on the verge of defying all logic...
