I'm glad Khan is an engineer and observes patterns that work, and ones that typically fail. He is probably thinking:

1. This team was has been close in all of its games (except NE). It's playing competitive ball.
   
2. Most of our playmakers are still raw (1st or 2nd year) and will continue to grow. Mistakes are to be expected.
   
3. Blake Bortles has tremendous potential - he's a huge piece of the puzzle and it looks like he's the real thing.
   
4. Many of our best players are currently sidelined (like last year's Pro Bowl DT, and this year's 1st round draft pick) - leaving second string, non-starting material to have to step up and try their best. Mistakes are to be expected, the level is excepted to be lower in certain positions.
   
5. The jags are in better shape than their record, and there will be many fans who think we should take the heads off of the head coach.
   
6. Rebuilding a team that was essentially an incomplete, minor-league franchise when his new GM took the reigns will take quite some time. 3 years if the QB starts to click very early, more than that if there are hang-ups or injuries.
   

 

Regardless of how we feel as fans, my money is that Khan feels good about the current, global level of the team and the direction in which it's heading. He probably expects the major payoff to be not even next year, but the year after and beyond.

After year 10 of the rebuild when we're 40-120 then I might consider changing my mind on the subject, but we need to continue with what's working.

The OP is one of many fans that after yet another loss feel that the fans are to blame instead of the players, coaches, or management.

The fans came out to TB to root for their team they did everything you could really ask from fans on a road game.


If a few fans come on the message board to vent, so be it.  It is not their fault for the poor production on the field.

 

You usually blame or praise the GM, Head Coach, or the QB that is why so many threads exist among those three.  I do not feel as if Blake Bortles is at fault in his 2nd year he has progressed better than most with less tools and coaching at his disposal.


It is easy to say boo you fans for not supporting a losing team and to get praise from those individuals who might lose their jobs but that won't bring in more ticket sales.


The Jaguars franchise sells an entertainment service, and constantly losing & being embarased on National TV doesn't increase ticket sales.  Winning does.

That doesnt mean that many of us wont continue to support our favorite team and enjoy watching despite the constant losing, blow outs, and frankly embarassing games to watch after all the hype.


I think most fans that come on this message board continue to support the team, regardless of the venting threads or posts.
