Quote:No, and no.But Eric Berry did go that high, and id say the chiefs have gotten their return on that pick. The core problem of our team is quarterback. If youre not taking a quarterback at 4 then you cant go wrong with the defensive bpa. Quote:But Eric Berry did go that high, and id say the chiefs have gotten their return on that pick. They did go wrong. Think about where they would have been with a franchise QB. Berry made no difference. Yes, he did go that high. And. Made. No. Difference.

Quote:They did go wrong.Berry made no difference because what? they didnt win a superbowl? Any player thats drafted and doesnt immediately carry you to a superbowl is a wated pick? Quote:Berry made no difference because what? they didnt win a superbowl? Any player thats drafted and doesnt immediately carry you to a superbowl is a wated pick? So we can pretend he made a difference and all is good? LOL

And what franchise QB were the chiefs supposed to draft? Sam bradford was the only QB from the draft that was any good and he was already off the board.
Quote:So we can pretend he made a difference and all is good?Has he done what he was drafted for and be one of the top defensive players in the league?
You still have to build a team every year. You cant just pause on the entire team until you have a quarterback. I have no idea how this is an actual argument.
Quote:They did go wrong. Berry was chosen over Tim Tebow, Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy - I don't see how this was close to a mistake The chiefs had Matt Cassel who went 10-6, went to the pro bowl and were in the playoffs Berry had 70 some tackles and 4 picks his rookie year and has consistently achieved similarly attractive stats every season and makes plays when it counts - again not seeing how me made "NO difference" Berry is the type of player you build a secondary around We show less advertisements to registered users. It's always a fun "debate" at the children's table.
You all might as well have said, "hey, I can't comprehend that upgrading QB would be more important than adding a Pro Bowl safety, so I'm just going to pretend his argument said draft any QB instead of Berry with the same pick." As if that's the only way it works... lol. If that's all you can understand, then you were never debating the topic to begin with. Now, continue on with your pretend argument. Sip some juicy juice, take a hit of gogurt and be happy.

Quote:It's always a fun "debate" at the children's table. No one said a safety is more important than a QB, at any point. Not even implied. Youre talking about other positions on the field not being important enough to draft because we dont have a qb as if theyre mutually exclusive and team building stops until you have a quarterback. If you're advocating for a QB at 4 over over Jamal thats your opinion but pretending a position doesnt matter because its not going to immediately translate into a superbowl is a pretty asinine implication.
again for the old fella in the back
Team building doesnt get put on hold till you have a quarterback Quote:The forgotten man.The best ability is availability. He is not reliable enough ![]()
Wasn't Sample drafted to be the rangy Centerfielder at FS?
If he is replacing Cyp (who we should resign), are we moving to cover 2?
Calling Deshawn Watson a future bust since 3/19/17. If I eat crow, I will keep this in here and proclaim JackCity a genius.

Quote:Wasn't Sample drafted to be the rangy Centerfielder at FS?I was under the impression Sample was an SS that had better coverage ability than cyp Quote:I was under the impression Sample was an SS that had better coverage ability than cyp He was considered more of a box safety by analysts but he played well enough in zone coverage in college that Caldwell thought he may be an upgrade to Evans in Bradley's scheme at FS. Also, at the time Bradley was pushing hard at having two safeties that could play either spot and disguise coverage pre-snap. (Of course that never materialized.) He managed to disguise the coverage so well it was almost as if it didn't exist! |
