I refuse to do down that path because it’s flawed thinking. The democrats cheered the death of Tony Snow, Tony Snow!, and painted him as something demonic because he was Bushes press secretary. It was disgusting and I refuse to engage in such demented reasoning.

And if Jen dies I will feel bad not only for her, but her family and friends and everyone affected.

In life she was garbage as a politician, but not necessarily as a human being, but in death she would receive nothing but love and sympathy.

I didn't mention cheering anyone's death.

The point being she's just the messenger. I'm not going to paint her as guilty or having a black soul.

I see your point but also believe that taking a job doesn't relieve you from any guilt associated with it. She stands up there on a daily basis and lies to the face of America and contradicts things she said before she took this job.

Maybe her soul isn't black, but she is no girl scout.

For anyone who'd like to read the executive order, here's a link.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room...employees/

The order applies to federal workers and contractors in the executive branch of federal government. Members of Congress, which includes the House of Representatives and the Senate, fall under the legislative branch of government. For members of congress to be mandated, I'd guess they'd have to pass a resolution to do so and hard to get that group to agree on anything.
I'm condescending. That means I talk down to you.

The point of my post is to point out how stupid the messaging is from the current regime.  They are mandating that people get vaccinated... to protect people that are vaccinated... from a disease which they have been vaccinated against.  It makes no sense, but then again, these are democrats that we are talking about.

This whole mandate thing has gotten too ridiculous, too political and too extreme.

I am by no means an "aniti-vaxxer", but I am against people being forced to put something into their body against their will.  I am also against the draconian "laws" being put in place where restaurants, small businesses, etc. are supposed to "require" people to show proof of vaccination in order to patronize their establishments.  A person's medical status is personal, private information between said person and his or her doctor.  It's nobody else's business.

I personally chose to get the vaccine for my own personal reason(s).  I really don't care or want to know if somebody else has or has not gotten it.

There are 10 kinds of people in this world.  Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Agreed. Mandates are counterproductive. We should continue to try to appeal to reason even though it's not going to win over people who've made up their minds that they don't want or need to be vaccinated at this point.

This is the kind of science that is polluting our dialogue:

I was interested in the topic, then I get to the limitations, and they didn't even control for PCR testing rate. [BLEEP]? Why is this given any credibility?

I know I posted this already. You guys should really watch this, but I want you to think about something for a second: Joe Manchin is one of the primary obstacles in the way of Dems getting what they want. Don't you think, that if they all weren't on the take from big Pharma, he'd already be under investigation by the DOJ? Or his daughter or his wife? I mean, seriously. Either they all do this so much that they don't think this is illegal, or they don't want to bring any scrutiny on themselves. Either way, this stuff needs to stop.

They hardly ever go after their own. They only pretend they want to.  It's mostly theater.

The point, and the reason I posted in this thread, is to highlight the role big pharmaceutical plays in corrupting our politicians. Therefore, people who are not going after him are most likely corrupted by the same process. If so, how can we accept the idea that they are doing anything in our best interest? We can't. We have to be critical.

Hey look... a medical establishment that's following the science. Now we just need them to admit that the unvaccinated are only risking their own personal health by not taking it.

Edit: Assuming that's true, of course. You didn't post a link.

It's not just the politicians. Doctors are pressured to prescribe drugs to patients.

I've always been critical just by the way big pharma "sells" meds to doctors and gives them incentives for prescribing the drugs. I hate pharma reps. They're drug dealers just as much as the guy on the corner.

About 20 years ago a doctor tried to prescribe me a new med to replace something I was already taking that was working. I told him no. He tried several times and I said no every time. Finally I had to change doctors because he would no longer prescribe the med I'd been taking. A few years ago a specialist tried to prescribe me a drug for something I didn't even have (but he was convinced I did) and it wasn't approved by the FDA to be used for my phantom condition. I refused every time. I was literally saved by my insurance company who refused to pay for the drug because (1) it was ridiculous expensive, (2) there was no proof I had the condition the doctor was trying to treat, and (3) the lack of FDA approval. I was hounded by that doctor to take the drug and he finally had to drop it when insurance stepped in.

Because of this I have a legit criticism of big pharma and how they operate and is one reason why I do not trust anything about this vaccine or the politicians and medical community who are pushing it on us. Anyone who makes a medical decision based on what anyone other than a qualified medical professional who knows them and their medical history is a fool. The problem with this is the initial and continuing misinformation by the CDC and Fauci and the politicization by both the democrats and republicans. No one knows anything for sure and it seems "facts" are being walked back on the regular which makes it worse.

There are pros and cons to having an older doctor. My PCP is in his 60s and is pretty old school in not prescribing things without a historical track record,  which I think is great, but there can be a downside to that as well.

I think younger doctors are more prone to the pitches of the pharma reps.

My wife has a great story about that. Short version, she went all in on a new treatment, based on the data, even though her mentor didn't think it would work. She thought he was an old dog. Come to find out, once she really started digging into the research, most of the numbers had been manipulated. She was disheartened to realize these companies would lie like that. Her patients are lucky she's diligent.

Food for thought...

I think time will prove me right about the vaccine. All in all, it would have been better to vaccinate those most likely of dying, and let everyone else catch it. I believe it would serve us better moving forward. We are a short-sighted nation, imo.

Also, Fauci is now worried about a mutant virus that will affect the vaccinated.
