Trump rages in ALL CAPS after appeals court rules against him. WELP

If this travel ban was actually about protecting Americans Chump would have restricted travel from the countries he excluded. Protecting us is not his priority.

The beginning criteria was lack of intelligence infrastructure with a cooperative government. The Iranians are readying for war, Syria is in chaos, luv is has no real central government to speak of.

Conversely the use the Saudis the Jordanians etc. Are helping to fund safe zones and working with our intelligence.

Quote:My comment was poorly worded. I meant why does the ban not protect us from countries that have harbored terrorists that actually attacked us? Where is Saudia Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Turkey, or the UAE?

The order suspends entry into the U.S. from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen for 90 days. But critics have argued that Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates were not included, even though a report from the Cato Institute showed that the three countries were the point of origin for people responsible for 94.1 percent of American deaths due to terrorist attacks in the U.S. Eighteen of the 19 people responsible for the 11 September 2001 attacks also hailed from those three countries.

this is part of the problem... these people let snopes do the thinking for them and go around repeating it like its gospel

Wrong. There are currently three designated by the State Department: Iran, Syria, and Sudan. Iran has held the #1 spot for quite some time.

Surely you can't be that clueless? Those countries, and only those countries were chosen because there was an existing law that specified those countries. To change the list of countries would require a new bill through congress, most likely with a filibuster in the Senate.

The seven countries chosen were designated as terrorist havens by Obama and his State Department. It was a strange coincidence that all seven are Muslim-majority countries. I mean, the odds against that must be astronomical, right?

What I want to know is, this was supposed to be a 90 day moratorium on visitors from these 7 countries.  So, while we're battling out the legality and constitutionality of this executive order, I assume they are working on whatever fixes they said would take 90 days, right?   This whole thing should be over by April at the latest, regardless of court rulings.  Right?

Should be.

But this is the Federal government we're talking about. Everything takes 6 times as long and costs 6 times as much.

Nope. Like I had mentioned elsewhere, expect a revised EO specifically addressing the courts issues, thereby circumventing their BS. Expect it to be more of a long term order in the year timeframe.

Like Saudi Arabia, would you support the travel ban if they were? Seems after a myriad of explanation you still have no clue why the travel ban and how the countries were identified.

As I said in another post.  Over the past couple of weeks there have been people from Pakistan not only in the country, but on a military base and in a building that holds classified materials.

By the way...

He would respond, but he just finished a book on workplace violence at Ft Hood. He is now at JFK Airport, wearing an orange jumpsuit, welcoming "refugees" with a gift of ginsu knives for each of them.

What lies behind us, and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.
