The inexperience tag is getting to be a nauseating excuse. The players drafted last year are now going into game 27 for Pete's sake and if correlating this to their college experience would put them in year 3 of their career. Being in the wrong position, running the wrong routes, missing assignments, etc. should have been cleaned up by now with good coaching.

I will be shocked if he is fired in the middle of next year regardless of what happens. Based on comments from Shad and Caldwell it is clear they understood that the rebuild period would be painful and they were willing to stay committed to the plan. Changing course mid-flight would be reactive and a bad sign.

 

Year three is mid flight of a rebuilding plan?  I really hope not.

Depends on the position.  For QBs it takes about 30 to 50 games depending on the player.  For DBs it probably takes about 2 or 3 years.

Yeah and the people who think 10 games is plenty of experience keep chirping up.  At least until the objects of critique go to the pro-bowl anyway.  LOL

If we start 0-8 next year, he's clearly not the right guy.

 

Cut your losses right then and there.  Any extra games that the wrong coach has on this team is wasted time.

As usual the answer is more complicated then a simple one liner.  In general, since the team is the youngest in the league, I would expect them to take about 3 years to start to come into their own.  This can be mitigated a little bit by adding some quality vets.

   If it takes 2+ years for a DB to learn NOT to let a receiver wander around in the end zone without an escort, he's probably not the right guy for the job.

You realize these guys didn't just start playing football for the first time this summer, don't you?  Last week I watched a college game and sometimes the DB's even guarded the receivers, just like they do in the NF!

How they are 4-6 in that division is beyond me. Thats the sign of a good coach. Not someone who is going 1-9 in the terrible AFC South.

We've played one AFC South game.
