Im definitely at the point where I think it'd be best for everyone if Urban left. I've never been a fan per se but was always willing to give him time based on his track record. I think the common phrase you hear a lot on the boards "can't recruit in the nfl" is lazy. He didn't go undefeated at Utah by out recruiting anyone. Nobody knew how to stop his spread.  Out coached his opponents. Completely changed his offensive philosophy early on at Florida to fit Chris leak and won a title. Late in the year at Ohio st changed his offense again to fit backup qb cardale Jones. He could recruit but he could also coach. And more importantly would adapt to his personnel. And if he has ample time between games he usually could come up with a great game plan.

Shipley had a good tweet yesterday that the Urban we're seeing isn't the one Shad thought he was hiring. And definitely isn't the meyer we saw in college. It seems like he is barely involved. No idea who is on the field and why. Disagreements with basic philosophy of the offense. Not adapting to fit strengths of the team and players. He has even admitted that over time he felt like his coaching style has gotten away from micromanaging but that may be to his detriment. Prisco keeps calling him just a figurehead and it definitely feels that way. Almost everything about him feels different than the guy who dominated college football.

Feel like a broken record but it did feel like the team was improving week to week and culminated with that first win in London. But ever since then it's just a train wreck of epic proportion. Feels like every week is worse than the one before. And most importantly it feels like Lawrence is losing confidence and not progressing at all.  This is turning into near worst case scenario. Don't see how keeping Urban another year will fix anything.

You're right, he didn't outrecruit anyone. Alex Smith was already on the roster when he took the Utah job.

He also won a MNC with Zook's recruits at UF. Seems he's good if someone else does the building for him, maybe he should stick to coordinating and leave the drafting and free agency to someone else.

I’m not getting the vibe from the media that was on Shad’s boat last night that Urban is getting fired.

We also just had Jeff Prosser say on the radio that his real estate friend has been working with Dan Mullen to find a house in Jacksonville. Sounds like Mullen will be the OC next year under Urban.

I don't mind Mullen as an OC, but does he come with Urban as a condition. I hope they don't pull this crap of hiring coordinators, then firing the HC, then limiting the HC pool by handcuffed them to an OC they didn't want.

Wow. Hayes Carlyon on 1010 saying he supported UM's hiring but is now willing to admit he was wrong. He says Meyer should do the honorable thing by resigning rather than holding Khan to a contract pay out to fire him. He goes on to say that Khan shouldn't be held financially responsible for Meyer's obvious lack of willingness to fulfill his job requirements. Khan shouldn't have to pay for this CRIME that Meyer has perpetuated.

I liken it to a waived-injured settlement. Khan hands Urbz a chunky check, Urbz steps forward, admits the esophagitis is relapsed and too much to bear, and steps away from the fold. Doesn't have to be the full buyout, as that will probably reflect poorly on Urbz if he ever did want to did his toes back into coaching, but he's not gonna walk away for free. "honorable" hasn't appeared to be a part of Urbz's vocabulary over the course of the past year, not sure why anyone would expect that to change today.
